Lucky Strike (the decent strong ones) were fairly common in England in the 80s and 90s, although initially you only seemed to find them in “uncle Ahmed” type corner shops or in London (especially the kiosks at Underground stations). In the 80s the dude in the shop would often say (if he thought you/your friends were not quite 16) “don’t throw the empty pack on the ground along with empty drinks bottles/cans or I will get trouble from the policeman and won’t be able to sell you them any more” (the local bobby was smart enough to realise that not every shop sold this brand and they were popular with teens)
Although when I smoked pot more regularly I switched to Embassy No1 as my hippy friends complained they were “too strong” to skin up with.
Only Asda stocks the new Luckies round here and they are very recent, I happen to have a barcode scanner I use for scanning asset tags and MAC addresses on hardware for work I checked the barcode and they are also now on some of the cash and carry lists (currently at £7.99 a pack) so some corner shops should have them.
Even Marlboro Gold (which my younger sister used to smoke until recently) are £9.60 here, are cigs more expensive in Scotland than England?
