What if you owned your own country? Lets say that a large tropical island (about the size of Cuba) formed overnight in the middle of international waters. You were the first person there and you claimed it as your own. Your claim is uncontested, so now you have your very own country that is completely independent from any government. At this time you are the only person who lives on the island, but many people want to move there because it is a tropical paradise.
You now have the opportunity to establish your own set of laws prior to anyone immigrating to your new country. Assuming you WANT people to EVENTUALLY move to your island nation - what laws would you establish and why?
For example:
1 - What would you make the legal drinking age?
2 - Driving age?
3 - Age of sexual consent?
4 - Voting age?
5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)?
6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) would be legal?
- Pot
- Tobacco
- Cocaine
- Alcohol
- LSD
- Caffeine
- Heroin
- Other?
7 - Can people have guns? (if so - who and what kind?)
8 - What would be the name of your country?
9 - Would you have the death penalty?
10 - What would be the speed limit?
11 - What types of religions would be permitted or restricted?
Which of the following would be legal:
12 - Porn?
13 - Prostitution?
14 - Polygamy?
15 - Homosexuality?
16 - Stem cell resurch?
17 - Human Cloning?
18 - Cock Fighting?
19 - Slavery?
20 - Hunting?
21 - Fishing?
22 - Eating meat?
23 - Littering?
24 - Unisex bathrooms?
25 - Suicide?
26 - Gay marriage?
27 - Abortion?
28 - What types of sexual activity (if any) would be illegal?
29 - Would your county be clothing optional or clothing mandatory?
30 - Would you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene".
31 - What system would you set up for collecting taxes?
- Income tax? (how much?)
- Sales tax? (how much?)
- Import/Export tax? (how much?)
32 - What criteria would someone need to pass to become a citizen?
33 - What types of people would you allow (or not allow) into your country?
34 - What type of government would you establish?
35 - To what degree would your government be allowed to censor or restrict the media?
36 - Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions would you like to establish?
For example - taking shoes off before entering someone's home.
Or not eating with the left hand.123

Earthdream
Hi Folks!
Here is the visual schema for 'EARTHDREAM 2012' with more details to come soon.
Earthdream 2012 will be starting in Perth at the winter solstice on June 21st 2012 and spiralling around the Southern expanse of the Country then up the Eastern coast, travelling to the total solar eclipse outside Cairns on the 14th November 2012 at 6:40am, then moving around to climax at the most cosmic of alignment gatherings we will ever experience in our lifetime, in the Centre of Australia, outside Alice Springs at the summer solstice on the 21st December 2012, for the party at the end of time !!!
If you've been out there this year, just checking things out, I hope you've been having a great time and made good connections.

Keep your litter your problem!
Bury your Pooh AND burn the paper, otherwise dogs dig it up again !!!
Tidy up your own old tyres, bottles, T-shirts, Oil filters, sleeping bags, ripped tents, plastic bags, food cans, cooking utensils, nappies, boots, tent pegs, ciggy butts, tarps, ropes...... Oh Jeez you get the Idea!
Keep things you don't enjoy, to a minimum!
Do not bring your "stuff" from the past age as we are entering a new age!!!
Be Loving to all Beings!
Take time to Heal Yourself!

FINALLY:
DRUGS and ALCOHOL - if you choose to be off your face you may well miss the point, surely it has reached the time to evolve past these induced states? Be clear and clean enough to induce your own natural blisses.
The level system of governance implies the lateral passage of information resulting in decision. NO VERTICAL HIERARCHY. However, keep respecting your Elders.
Non-destructive animals welcome.
ON THE BUTTON........BE FREE AND ENJOY!!!
Rock art in a California cave was a visual guide to hallucinogenic plants Minimum 500 years ago, humans had drugs and enjoyed them. It took around 400 more years before Americans got round to creating the problem that has led to unimaginable levels of human suffering , incarceration and death.

DE : The bagpipes of Bavaria (auf Deutsch) Although he is not the only bagpipe-maker in the village; Toru Sonoda (a Japanese chap, slightly older than myself) also builds them in the same region :)

its equally impressive that Florian has a day job in IT but still has enough spare time and energy to build these pipes (I think Germany has stricter rules about what working hours are permitted for employees)

Do YOU think graffiti writers should be given prison sentences? I don't know how much everyone knows about graffiti on here, but i'd be interested to hear your opinions. If you live in a city or commute on a train you will have seen graffiti at some point in your life..
These days a LOT more graffiti writers are given a lengthy prison sentence (usually 12-24 months) for their "crimes" but is this right?
FREE NOIR ATS- Another London Graffiti Writer Sentenced To 16 Months In Prison « The London Vandal
Oker Jailed – Friends Organise Benefit For Him At Pure Evil Gallery « The London Vandal To name a few.
These "criminals" often hold down functional, working lives sometimes with families to care and provide for yet are sent to prison with REAL criminals who have committed crimes which
completely devastate peoples lives for merely applying a medium to a surface.
I'm friends with a couple of writers ALL of which are perfectly respectable and some VERY talented human beings whom are in complete contrary to the stereotype of a chavvy group
of misfits who thieve and are involved in gang activity (which is the kind of thing the shit the media produce).
I watched an interview with 10Foot (a notorious graff writer from london) who was sentenced to 24 months. He was recently released and spoke about how him and 3 of his friends were sent to jail for
graffiti crimes. One of the 3 ended up hanging himself after he was also sentenced to 24 months for the same crimes..
A spokes person from the BTP previously said "I'd rather see graffiti writers go to jail than the morgue.." which turned out to be a complete contradiction of his philosophy when one of the guys tragically
killed himself.
A punishment is obvious from being involved in illegal activity. But i think any sort of prison sentence for this kind of thing is disgusting, unnecessary and a waste of time, money and resources.
So what do we think.. is it right?123
Graffiti Artist Tests the Patience of Local Authorities Love this :)
I cycled past this wall on the way to work for years. I noticed that graffiti painted within the red area was buffed with red paint. However, graffiti outside of the red area would be removed via pressure washing. This prompted the start of an experiment. Unlike other works, I was very uncertain as to what results it would yield. Below is what transpired over the course of a year.
