Man dies after ‘taking ecstasy’
An Armagh man has died after reportedly taking drugs.
The 20-year-old took ill at a house in the Alexander Park area of the city at about 2230 BST on Friday.
He was taken to hospital but died despite attempts to revive him.
The police said they were told he had taken ecstasy.
Detectives have warned people who bought the drug to destroy it immediately, regardless of where they got it.
Anyone who has already taken the drug has been advised to seek medical attention even if they do not feel any ill effects.
A post mortem examination will be carried out on Saturday to establish the exact cause of death.
The police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
