yep weed is not only one of the least harmfull recreational drugs (argueably) but also has untold healing properties, especially for muscular comlaints. i have two relatives with ms, and a freind with a similar condition. if they didn’t have weed their lives would be considerably worse all round.
considering noone has ever died from it, it amazes me that it was ever criminalised. it seems to me to have been about suppressing black, latin, asian and hispanic (basically non-white) culture.
in worthing there was recently a few coffreshops that opened and sold weed openly. this was partly because there are a lot of invalids in the area who need a safe, regular supply. the police closed them down and nicked the owners (including putting on wheelchair-bound ms sufferer in prison!). there are still ganja cafe’s in the area, but they are run by more criminal type people (totally safe, unlike the ones in bristol and brixton i’ve been to). thats fine by me, but it seems that the very people who need the weed most are denyed it. which seems like bullshit to me.
