stories and experiments of the plant Salvia Divinorum raaaraaaraaa

Ive watched this before. They also try other drugs in the Sacred Weeds series. Its a good series all in all but there are some proper opinionated “experts” who dont seem very open to discussion.

Well worth watching along with the others :

“The purpose of these sacraments is to purify, and to open the road. When it opens,it’s as clear as the blue sky, and the stars at night are as bright as suns.”

The genus name Salvia is derived from the Latin salvare, meaning “to heal” or “to save”. The words salve, salvation and saviour also come from this root.

Salvia has not been found to be either physically
      or psychologically addictive

Interestingly, the effects of Salvia divinorum are often mistakenly described as ‘LSD-like’ by people who have not tried it, most notably politicians and reporters. Actual userson the other hand more often describe its effects as unique (38.4%), and more like meditation, yoga or a trance (23.2%). This compares to only 17.7% of users who liken it to any of the other serotonergic psychoactives (mescaline, psilocybin, LSD, etc.)

Salvia can shift perception into altered states of consciousness and sensation. Such powerful experiences may be interpreted as enlightening, frightening, or just plain strange. Many take time to integrate and try to make sense of their experience in the hours, days or weeks following. Some find it useful to be alone for an hour or so to gather thoughts and absorb the experience. Others find it is useful to talk through, sharing the imagery and ideas with another person. For some the experience is so far removed from everyday reality they find it difficult to describe. Recall may be likened to that of an elusive dream, with memory quickly fading on wakening.

So whos tried some then ?

I had a pretty powerful experience on some x10 extract. I had done it before on a few occasions but never had a proper high dosage. Its nothing like Mushrooms or LSD. Its not a nice high, quite harsh in fact, but it doesnt last long. One second i was in my lounge on a saturday afternoon, then the next i felt i was in a different dimension. In retrospect i probably did too much at once, my friends with me said i froze and nearly dropped the bong. From what i remember (this stuff is hard to remember on) my vision changed to a 2 dimensional waterfall of colours streaming through my vision. I didnt recognise anything or anyone despite being in my lounge with two old friends. Its a very geometrical drug and all my movements felt restriced to certain directions. :crazy_diz

Very wierd but also very interesting experience.

I tried it. The first time I did it, had unexplainable, uncontrollable laughter (allthough nothing like the gigglez on LSD or mushrooms). very hard to explain… not nessecarily pleasent. it is a very weird psychadelic. I had done it one other time after that and did not enjoy it at all. The first time was fun, but the second was just weird and “off”. worth experiencing though.I could never see this becoming popular enough to become illegal. I’ve yet to meet somebody who’s really extatic about “hangin out and smokin a bowl of salvia”. It’s just not that kind of drug.

Yeah its not a particulary nice drug, i would say pretty harsh. Its interesting you pissed yourself laughing cause thats what my friend did when he tried it.

That makes 3 people i have known laugh on salvia extracts !

One of them had tried 20x extract and found it ‘giddy’!

Its funny as i know the source and other people have found it VERY potent !

It does seem to vary in strengh for different people.
