i spose this will be another law that will be put infront of the organisers surely, or will it be alright cos its actually outside, rather than a small place, what about tents tho
Ah but theyโre not a place of work so the legislation is fuck all to do with the free party scene really.
Could turn more people towards illegals though, be that good or bad (Iโm unsure on that one tbh), as smokers get fucked off going to clubs and not being able to smoke!!!
Had the smoking ban for over a year up here already โ not heard of anyone attempting to enforce it at free parties.
Does mean a lot of random ****wits lurking around on the streets outside pubs and the like thoughโฆ.:hiding:
Can be a bit of a bugger at the weekends in the city.
Mostly the fuzz donโt enquire too deeply at free parties, as long as it isnโt too stressful for them to have to attendโฆ Considering the norm, I think them grumbling about people smoking tobacco in a tent is way down the list of worries anywayโฆ:weee:
not sure how itโll work, how will ppl be stopped smoking if there caught smoking in a pub? think itโll mean more ppl will stay at home or go to house/outdoor parties
The local CPSOโs round here reckon they are trying to extend it to smoking in the street!
I think they can already do you for litter anyway if you throw cig ends in the street!
theyโve also got litter wardens and street rangers round here and they all have airwave radios too which is a direct link to the Police.
Sometimes Suffolk comes across as its trying to be โBritainโs answer to Singaporeโ, its a beautiful area but has a very heavy nanny state presenceโฆ
Diss is a bit of a nightmare at times, Iโve been involved in local youth innitiatives and certain members of the council seem to think that banging them up until 25 is the best bet
yeah, and they then wonder why there are serious social problems caused by a generation gap in this area.
Iโm glad TBH I only came here when I was in my 30s and didnโt grow up here, as other than the free parties there seems to be absolutely fuck all constructive for youths to do round here..
Very true, they are trying to set up a boxing club and yoof cafe in Diss but I donโt know how far it will get. They seem to have been pretty liberal with slapping ABCโs on a lot of kids too. Glad Iโm back out in the sticks, at least I donโt have to put up with the little oiks
tell me about itโฆ my mate got threatened with an ABC for loud music, and many people i know have had โem givenโฆ i think they are like, half-ASBOโs? not sure though.
imo the โnaming and shamingโ idea of an ASBO (posters round with their face on, showing they are restricted from wherever etc.) is pretty harsh. it pretty much means they are hated by older generations who tend to be really judgemental. some of them who have ASBOโs deserve some punishment, but it aint really a workable solution.
as for constructive things for young peopleโฆ we had some of them. youth club. radio station run by young people. dj workshops. then the council sold half the youth centre off as offices. nice one right there :hopeless: i miss havin my own show, was a top laugh, really did help some fucked up kids n all. helped me quite a bit 3 years ago, summat for us all to be proud of wannit.
thatโs standard in Exeterโฆ. ยฃ70 on the spot (cheaper than speeding in your car! )
at least they have put in stub-plates on the bins though, so you donโt have to carry your butts home in your pocket
Up here in Scotland, itโs not just workplaces but any public enclosed space. Only found out myself that itโs actually illegal to smoke in a bus shelter now.
You canโt smoke in marquees either even with the sides up. Iโm sure thisโll be the least of their concerns although it would be entertaining to see someone banned from the tent at a party for smoking:laugh_at:
the smoking ban shoulding really effect free parties as they are private parties not for public attendance
is this correct?
u should know, alcohol has all the answers
