i was planning to do a mix of classic acid tunes, and some more recent stuff, but then realised that i don’t really know any recent tunes with the magical acid squelch in it. 😳

anyone got any recommendations? ❓

Anything by Infected Mushroom, Chemical Brothers, or the Crystal Method.

Also, it’s not recent, but “Acid Trax” by Phuture established the acid house genre which, as I understand it, led to the rave scene as we know it today.

well yeah, don’t think i could do it without having acid trax on there.

till reach a tune called “nuts” . To me its got the same vibe and sound as the mid nineties squat acid techno but at the same time manages to sound up to date .The artist is called Pete North and its a recent tune.
Of course you might be looking for amore Acid house than acid techno but anyway – I love that tune !

John da dentist or Dave da Drumer, not really new but sound it.
Industrial Strength Records still knock out sum squelchy acid tekno but you prob know that

must admit it is more the acid house sound i’m looking for, but i reckon i will go harder towards the end and put a couple of acid techno tunes on there at the end

thanks for the recommendations, when i do the mix, i’ll post it up.

luv hearing old and new together, got loads of really old acid house from 89-94 but no recent stuff, only acid tekno which dosen’t really go, too much going on. Why you making the mix, special night?

i downloaded some mix of acid tunes the other week and thought, “that’s rubbish, I could do loads better”

also went to a night that billed itself as acid, playing definitive tunes the other week, asked if they were going to play acid trax by phuture, and got a blank look. i’m sure the 12″ is stupidly expensive, but they had laptops next to their decks, so come on…:you_crazy

just playing a few tunes at the mo, thinking about track order, wondering whether to go roughly chronological, or just mix it up. i’ll see what happens…

old & new together in chronological order like 90’s choon with very latest then work upwards & backward if u know what I mean (91 with 06) will mash up heads trying to idendify choones

just tried to do in chronological order, and dint work – got fast quite quickly with higher state of consciousness, and then had a new tune that sounds old school – return to acid kerri chandler

i reckon that pirate revival is just what i’m looking for

on a similar note, what with all the electro sound coming back, ald school acid house should be back on too….

i love early acid house, and acid tekno is pretty good too, but acid hardcore, ugh:yakk:
