So i was walking through the forrest today and it seems that up here in the land of the jocks Mushrooms have started growing like no ones business, it appears we are already well into the season, i must have spotted atleast a dozen different types, but no bloody libertys, they must be somewhere but due to lack of shroom hunting experience i only have basic knowledge from reading stuff online as to where to look for them.
My questions are, is it worth having a longer look in the forrest to see if i can find any liberty caps (or am i wasting my time completely and should go back to walking through fields instead) ? Has anyone ever found any or heard of anyone else finding any in a forrest ? if so, what kind of terrain do they grow on ?
any suggestion would be much appriciated as i strongly intend of finding some this season!

look for hourse/cow shit .. i think they grow near it .. i might be mistaken tho
Yea i don’t think liberty’s really grow in forests plenty of edible mushrooms though but don’t try any because its easy to mistake poisonous ones:yakk:
you might find fly agarics in birch forests but its best to leave them as well because there getting pretty rare and might be even endangered.
best off holdin on a while for liberty caps:wink:
dont eat liberty caps u find in the forst they will make you ill , because liberty caps do not under any circumstances grow in the forest
thats exactly what i needed to read! Cheers.
where would u usually be looking then? ive found alot fields has long(ish) grass so would be hard to spot libertys, and from my research online, that only really leaves playing fields/parks as an option. maybe not?
any suggestion apriciated!
longish grass is fine your probably not gonna find em in mowed grass but there well selective about where they grow, fringes of playing feilds and golf courses iv found that places where deer live are the best but i spose thats not always an option, just grassy areas that arnt farmed for crops most copycats arnt going to kill you but still be careful if u know anyone whos picked before ask em to have a look
i thought deers lived in forrests :hopeless:
You want land that hasn’t been cultivated for a long long time, common land that kind of thing:wink:
happy hunting:bounce_fl:bounce_g:
