DXM is a dissociative, which is kind of difficult to explain. It is not all that similar to pot, and it is not a particularly social drug.
If that is the only active ingredient, that’s fine, but MAKE SURE OF IT if you don’t want to DIE. There are some sweeteners (sorbitol, I think?) which can make you stomach sick in high doses, but they won’t kill you.

DO NOT do DXM if you are on anti-depressants or some other pharms, E or stimulants, you can VERY EASILY become very sick or DIE. This is not something to be fucking around with; if you’re on any kind of medication research it EXTENSIVLY before you try DXM. DXM is, in general, NOT a fun drug to mix with anything except maybe weed.
Drinking a bottle of cough syrup is a pain in the fucking ass, so cough gels are usually thought to be easier. If you like, you can extract it (search google for ”agent lemon”), which makes ingestion much easier. I do not think smoking it would cause effect, but I do not know to be certain.
You will probably throw up, particularly if you drink a bottle+ of cough syrup. Hold it in for as long as you can, but at some point it will probably happen, so be prepared.
Again, do not take DXM and go to a party, you will not have a fun time. A quiet room with some nice, mellow music is probably best.
