did the hours of research reveal that you won’t find any at this time of year?

there are several lookalikes. Keep an eye out for:

1) ones that look the same but dont have black gills
2) ones that look the same but have a smooth top. Liberty caps should have a ‘nipple’ right on the top. See picture for example

get a book. get someone who knows. dont ask people on forums u might well make urself rather i’ll following random tips and advice tbh.

though i’m no expert, i’v never managed to find any.

i know a group of newbies that went last year with no experience and found shit loads, i’d say go for it mate
