The Government have given HMRC the power to stop anything what might vaguely be an unregulated drug as part of the planned NRG-1 classification.
that said, one site claims (and it seems feasible enough) the hold up is due to problems with scaling up the chemical reaction to make the quantities wanted.
apparently the chemistry is being done somewhere in the EU (ex-Soviet countries have some very clever folk and lots of chemical factories :wink:) – but what might be a good reaction for making a kilo for a small group of people, might just simply go BANG! in the lab when scaled up due to the energy released in the chemical reaction.
This results in reagents, strong acid/caustic being sprayed everywhere – is why scientists wear white coats, goggles and conduct certain reactions behind shields – our brainy friends (as are any decent chemists) are usually smart enough not to get hurt doing this or set the lab alight (its still worth respecting the risks they take) , but the batch of precursor chemicals is lost and the time to market increases..
TBH I really doubt the “drugs by post” RC market in the UK will survive more than a few months as the entire machinery of Government is determined to stop it, however this stuff and mephedrone will probably eventually replace MDMA and piperazines on the illegal “pills” market due to the restrictions on safrole that mushroom_john mentioned.
