Ok, so I love shpongle, and other psy music; and i know a large purpose of it is for tripping to; but i always thought it was a bit scary. i’m quite sensitive to feeling anxious on psychedelics i’d say; and sometimes they deliberatly make their music scary. What do you think, should i give it a shot or better not to risk?

my first sort of mild psychedelic experience I played shpongle, some are OK but when you start roaming the songs you hit one which gives you unpleasant experience mainly the tones they use makes you rip headphones off, so it’s up to you, I would stick to psychedelic music without the wired sounds, I find too much music wares me down a bit and just prefer silence.

d’you mean going to see Shpongle live, or just listening at home? I’d say if you were sensitive to anxiety doing acid in a public place is probably not the best idea..whatever music is playing – it’s more likely to be the presence of other people than the music that’ll turn it into a negative experience.

On the other hand it could be great! If you go with a group of good friends and don’t do too much I’m sure you’ll have a good time. Have a backup plan sorted in case…taxi number, cash and some place you can crash without being disturbed.

D’you really think Shpongle is scary?

I try not to listen to Shpongle sober so as not to waste it ;P

I dont think they make their stuff scary as such it just has a mystical feeling to it a lot, which I’m sure you will appreciate 😀

ye like above Aya usually likes to be alone or with someone with the same idea as me a tries to find some meaning to his visuals that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy the trip for what it is etc. Aya once did sh rooms with a people who he wasn’t comfortable with and led to a bad trip, choose your environment and companions wisely. Aya remembers once seeing a scorpion on his hand when on the bad trip but I wasn’t afraid i didn’t harm me, I took the time too see what it meant, It meant not to do sh-rooms or anything with these people again, so it helps Aya find help to situations in imagery

sounds intresting have to giv it a go next trip, theres no psytrance scene here whatsoever barely even a psychedelic scene you have to travel halfway across the country sometimes to get cid

and ye i’ve thought about sticking to the shpongle without the wired sounds but i’m far too lazy to listen to every track and rate them yes or no. especially as they’re like 10 minutes + often. also that would mean i know every track really well which sorta takes some of the mystery away of the tracks.

I mean at home yeah. And yeah I definitely think some of Shpongle’s work is scary. The beginning of a new way to say hooray springs to mind. There’s random fly noises and ominous tones in there.

I was gonna test Shpongle + Psys with some salvia but it hit me way too hard and and I fell out of this world so actually turning the shpongle on was impossible.. haha

I have a decent psytrance scene going on in my house by myself….the social animal that I am!

I’m not sure salvia is very well suited to any kinda music!

Yeah I know salvia isn’t the same but I figured it would at least give me a little bit of a taste. i couldn’t understand what was playing, or even the concept of music or matter or anything, so that sorta backfired ..

yeh lol imo salvia dosent mix with anything i hate it my mate always raves about the salvia godess helping solve problems and shit but hes never even brokethrough on it or smoked dmt, dmt is what you want if your looking for that sorta thing
