Yeah, I was quite badly hooked on these. Only real cure is to stop taking them ie go total cold turkey, but just wait until a good time to start it like not when you have loads of early starts or whatever. You just need time to get it out of your system, took me about two weeks until I could sleep properly again. Just accept you’re gonna be tired for a few days and you’ll be ok. Only really use them now when trying to sleep on other substances – v. effective I must say! Good luck.

This is largely why they only prescribe short courses normally.

I have been put on a course of Zimovane (14 tablets) to try and and help me get a full nights sleep without spending 8+ hours staring at the back of my eyelids.

Hopefully they work for the intended purpose and I don’t have any side effects except dry mouth and a strange taste on the tongue.
