Where is the best place/ what is the best way to store research chemicals, in-particular AMT.
Obviously they need to be kept cool in a air tight bag and dark but how cool? Should I keep it in the freezer? Should I throw some silica-gel drying agent in the zip lock bag with it? Could this contaminate the AMT?
Oh and how long will a chemical like AMT stay viable for? I’m hoping years.
Thoughts, comments and tips please guys.
don’t put no gel in the bag, just leave it in the fridge or freezer in a few baggies.
Anhydrous Magnesium Sulfate IV is perfect for storage of reagents in the laboratory.Well drained and absorbs moisture making any purchases in our store will be able matured for much longer without losing its properties. The best method is pouring the bottom of the container where we keep the main reagent in the smaller application boxes, bottles or bags and seal the main container. Additionally, please insert the main container in a cool place or in the freezer. With this procedure, each lasting at least reagent is able to survive for many years. Recommended.

Hell yeah i like my drugs to have a funky taste wen i snort them baby!
May test a small amount in the freezer before putting it all in just in case freezing does something undesirable. Will get a large vacuum food sealer put it in and store it under dessication. Apparently dried Epsom salt, known as magnesium sulphate is a good desiccant which is also cheap and easily available from any chemist. I will also need some desiccant packs that are sealed so that the desiccant can’t escape and get all over the product. Job done.
You answered your own question really. Store them in a dark, dry place. I use a small metal box with a key for my stash Which I just keep in my bedside draw. No-ones getting any of my ‘rugs. Aha!
