Old cartoons (you know, the ones that are really fluidly repetetive) are absolutely awesome, they always do the trick for me. Make sure you turn the lights off first. I think the best cartoon for this purpose I ever saw was “Gullivers Travels”, when all the little people went to work on that giant it was just immense… so many things going on…
Oh, and a pad of A3 paper and a box of crayons is really funky too… nothing like seeing the colourful lines you just drew move about 😛
