Its probably their sweat that smells like it, ie; smoking weed when you sweat up to a month later you can still smell it.

its called an amine and is common to all stimulant drugs. It comes from ammonia which is sometimes found in urine and more so if you take amfetamine type stimulants as much goes straight through the kidneys. BTW I am just an engineer, not a chemist so this is a vastly simplified explanation but should hopefully clear up things… (ammonia itself is also a good chemical for clearing up stuff as it dissolves grease, by reacting with the organic compounds, its reactivity is why its valuable for making other chemicals).
