  • So got a PM from a guy from vice the other day. They are currently making 4 UK short drug documentaries on: GHB, Mephedrone, Meth Amphet and Ketamine as these are the 4 main drugs that are getting bad health effects reports in health places ATM.

I spoke to the guy and gave him loads of info, was not willing to be filmed though…

From the sounds of it they’re going to give a really fair review of it and the guy said when they were interviewing a doctor he had to hold back his words saying that MDMA was safe :laugh_at:

I’d do this. Fuck it, as long as I could have my face blurred like in cops lol

    Are they willing to pay?

If they weren’t I wouldn’t be up for it.

love reading / watching their stuff, and have done for years, and good funny and intelligent reporting, have often linked stuff on here.

I’d definitely be up for this, haha. 😀

I’d do this, been on the fucking drone for far too long now. I’d say it played a big role in my life going a bit tits up in the last year, failed uni, lost friends, got a fuck load of debt.

Ah well, live and learn.. yet I don’t. still doing it.

they were actually looking for more people who had good times with the drugs hahaha no joke…

Most of them are bang on it all anyway!

These days they are really into writing about drugs, i feel its becoming trendy…
however, they have some amazing journalists or interviewers from all over the world. i know some and they are really open minded..:) I used to be an intern at VICE, about 6years ago and not in the UK and i used to tell my experience of lsd to my boss and he liked it.

Journalists always say that hopefully they are being true. Not that I care actually so scrap that. Afternoon all

Journalists are only step above politicians on the ‘Mezz Scale of Scumminess’

They will say to drug takers they are going to represent their point of view to get them to speak, then go the police and say they will represent their point of view to them to speak, end of the day the only bits that will make it into the report will be the extreme or controversial headline grabbing parts

Just say NO………….. to journalists lol

journos in magazines similar to VICE aimed at the youth market were writing that sort of stuff in 1989 😉

The youth targeted media and the national broadcasters in most Western European countries has always been biased towards progressive attitudes. That isn’t a bad thing to be fair, as the right wing otherwise would simply impose their views and values by force.

what has changed currently is accessibility to get your message out – in 1989 it wouldn’t be possible for folk across Europe and the world to have a computer based forum like this, and if I had wanted to broadcast music I’d have to gather together random components (which weren’t always cheap or easy to get) to build a radio transmitter which would only get me about 30 miles range rather than being able to get listeners as far away as Malaysia…

unless you live in some foreign dictatorship, you can elect politicians every so often according to your own political views.

Journalists are unelected and yet attempt to take on the rôles of the Police and politicians and even those of the covert security services.

The wider problem isn’t the publications themselves, some of which do genuinely take a fair and progressive line but many individuals see work on one of these merely as a stepping stone and so the moment one of the muckraking tabloids offers a better position they suddenly change their views.

there was this dude in my town called Carl Giles who made some excellent political cartoons, and there is a very subversve leftwing element in them, but as a young lad he walked away from a leftwing newspaper to the daily Express (where he stayed working for them until he retired) because they paid him way more money even when WW II was still raging.

dude you didn’t speak to the guy, i was telling him the negative effects of meth and ket and ghb because these were the 3 drugs they were inquiring about and he was literally saying, we are actually looking for positive stories as this is a light hearted documentary on the fun side of drugs. then he went on to tell me about footage they already had of a uk doctor and he literally had to hold back but pretty much already gave away what he meant that he doesn’t see an issue with MDMA use and thinks it’s pretty harmless..

if you watch vice docs most of them are pro drugs and pretty honest. there’s stuff like krokodil and scopolamine episodes which are entirely negative for one simple reason… there are no positives unless you think injecting filthy desomorphine mixed with petrol into you for a high which kills you in 1-2 years and completely fucks you.

watch all of hamilton’s docs he gets on ayahuasca, truffles, jwh etc etc in the episodes and just shows positive feedback. he is really fucking annoying though his voice just is NOT for narration at all. oh i wonder how he got the job then? cos his dad was a big documentary maker…
