As long as 30 years ago when Ed Snowden was not yet born, there was no Internet and the only free communications device you had was the analogue CB radio on 27 MHz some chaps from the British security monitoring services (who were actually cool guys like Ed Snowden, but a bit more mature and smarter) explained to me and my friends what you could and couldn’t get away with discussing in Britain and Europe.
The explained that all discussion of class A drugs use is monitored; but that which can be proven as advice to prevent people being harmed from doing too much is OK; blatantly dealing or glorifying its use is not. Even when I was on pirate radio we were warned that oipenly glorifying drug use on air would get Communications Ministry officers closing down the station far quicker than if we just played music with a bit of chat/banter (theyd let you get away with double meanings and jokey comments).
There was a brief period in the late 90s when the barriers were brought down further especially in the UK; but it was followed by a lot of ODs and health problems leading to a backlash against MDMA use. today the UK is known as moral cesspool of Europe when it comes to drugs; and every communication about them in English is monitored by UK authoritiees, detectives of foreign authorities who understand English; as well as help given from NSA / FBI when required. Even the strong European privacy laws can be overruled when the targets are “drug addicts or those with mental health problems” and this has been the case for 20 years…
