  • Been three times in a row I’ve had the symptoms during the latter part and comedown of benzos. Distressing as it doesn’t allow sleep, and it’s been getting worse each time. Going to have a check-up with the doctor on monday, but I’m wondering whether anyone here can relate to this or give me tips. Off-putting as I can’t get much information on this problem, not like this.

I constantly had UTI’s a few years ago, however mine were mainly due to a err….. my ‘new relationships, relations’ – as UTI’s are often called the ‘honeymooners disease’,
But I can often get the symptoms of one after a bender – I’ve never done benzo fury – so I cant offer any info on that specifically

Mine go straight to my kidneys and I am in agony and always have to have anti biotics, and not just the normal one, but the one my GP describes as the ‘domestos of anti biotics’, I’ve also been prescribed codeine at times for the pain, I’ve been told to have a kidney scan the next time I get one to make sure I have 2 and that they are fully functional.

So I can totally empathise with you!

If its any help I was advised to take ‘cranberry capsules’ (from a health food shop) as a preventative measure – just like a daily vitamin supplement- and the really did / do help, also keeping cranberry juice and the over the counter uti powder in the house (just in case) was a blessing.

It is usually women who get UTI’s (especially after sex) rather then men, so it may mean it is more kidney related for you – with your body struggeling to get rid of the toxins, are you drinking enough water? are you usually fit & healthy? do you / have you used a lot of ketamine ? etc etc

the best thing to do is be honest and open with your GP, and do what you are doing and get checked out – but I also would stop taking benzo fury – if this is the only time you are getting these symptoms there’s a clue there 😛

If the drug dehydrates you (as mephedrone did to me) then this can happen. Fortunately mine solved itself after i drank ~10 pints of water the next day.. never made that mistake again.

I’m sure everyone is aware – but in ‘mummy mind’:

you have to be careful not to drink TOO much water though,
as this can cause problems with electrolyte and potassium levels and cause seizures and brain swelling / death, so make sure you rehydrate but at a sensible level

How many pints of water should I try and drink during a high? Will try the cranberry juice as well.

Just hope this is treatable, because no pills apart from benzos seem to agree with me.

I know – this was the day after having barely drunk water the previous night. I made sure i ate etc. aswell and that wasn’t 10 pints at once..

I wasnt suggesting you wouldnt know Deez,
but posted in case there are people who arnt familiar with substances, such as what happened to Leah Betts, (as this is what she died of not E)

I am not a doc – so I’d go with the recommended levels – such as:
    http://ecstasy.org/qanda/q78.html

if you are experiencing UTI symptoms I’d go with the recommendations:
    http://www.rochester.edu/uhs/healthtopics/womenshealth/files/UTIs.pdf

(Ps in the above article – it suggests UTI symptoms in men may indicate STD symptoms)

No luck with the doctor, basically said it was probably caused by the amphetamine or whatever it is, in the benzo. I’ll just have to keep hydrated next time and see if that does a job.

Seems like a fair enough diagnosis TBH even if the chemical structure in benzo fury isn’t exactly amfetamine (it is similar but with a 5 sided furan ring rather than 6 sided benzene one). Also the drug itself and the comedown will prevent sleep as well as any nasty illness you may have picked up. An ethical doctor is never going to help you do something he or she considers harmful – it is against their training

Boys as well as girls do get UTIs from party drug use. Especially as 90% of the time the body is working perfectly well enough for you to survive and work during the week but your weekend might push it just over the edge. Also this time of year is bad for minor but unpleasant illnesses.

BTW if you are in the habit of drinking alcohol before, during or after a weekend of stimulant use I would suggest avoiding this as it could make it worse.

First of all, please stop referring 6-APB as “benzos” as it can very easily be confused with benzodiazepines. Just use 6-APB or “benzo fury”.

Also Gen Light, while it is true that 6-APB isn’t Amphetamine, it is AN Amphetamine.

I am unaware about this drug doing harm to the bladder or kidneys, but I have heard (from questionnable sources) that it could be hepatotoxic. Also, since it is a potent 5-HT2B receptor agonist, this drug is likely to have significant cardiotoxicity.
I would advise against taking it, and I wiuld suggest you use MDMA instead as it is veey likely to be much less cardiotoxic. Whatever you do, please do not use reseach chemicals too often (once a month max) as you basically are the “lab rat” this drug is tested on.

Traditional chemists, drug users and cops/healthcare authorities often have different names/terminology for the same substance (with further differences between Europe and USA!)

Amfetamine type stimulants do indeed range from “normal” amfetamine all the way through to MDMA and analogues of controlled substances such as 6-APB) but are often viewed differently for legal classification – the idea being to limit harm from drug use whilst not restricting genunine scientific research too much.

This is the whole reason why people “choose” to take 6-APB rather than MDMA in the first place, as because its not currently a controlled substance its less hassle to obtain than MDMA which is a class A substance here in the UK with higher penalties for its posession / distribution. The harsh facts are that ambitious and otherwise law abiding people are forced into taking chances with their lives and long term health as the short term risks are less than being landed with a criminal record for drugs which lasts for life and affects your future prospects.

In any case all stimulants can cause these kinds of unpleasant medical complications and the only way to avoid them is to use less of them or none at all.

No idea how to get MDMA anyway, you can see where I’m coming from.

First attempt after the last, and I’m doing my best to keep hydrated. This time its starting to feel like bowel movement is impossible, just the drug rather than any infection.
