The title was just to grab attention really but thought I’d make this thread just because it might spark an interesting debate.

Guys what are your views on hitting women? Women what are your views on this taboo?

Just to clarify I mean hit a women in self defence if she behaves aggressively towards you not just general wife beating domestic abuse which I think is very wrong.

Thankfully I’ve never had to but I believe if I found myself in a situation where it was provoked I would hit woman without really considering their gender.

Do I need to learn some morals or is this simply as I think logical none-sexist behaviour?

If I am attacked I will retaliate with appropriate force depending on the nature of the attack rather than the identity of the attacker, to deter or subdue them.

In tv and movies woman hitting men is something either accepted or laughed at ‘You burnt the chicken Ralf you stupid prick! * repeatedly slaps on chest*

My mate gets drunk and punches her fella on the arm, not light punches full on dead arms that leave bruises for weeks. There only so much he can take it before he gets so angry he punches the laptop and in some cases pushes her over.

Everyone has a breaking point.

If a woman wants to step up to me like a man and start hitting me, she will get knocked out like a man.

Now, I wouldn’t go hitting anyone just for fun, only self defense.

Depends on the threat level really – if I’m being kicked or hit with a weapon then I think it fair if I react to get control of the situation and stop them hitting me…

… having said that, some people really get off on consensual physical punishment, domination etc, so I guess it’s not always a taboo.

Depends on the woman and exactly what they are doing… but I’ve no time for a man that just hits because he’s angry. That’s just loss of self control.

Mind you, I do think females should be allowed to bitch slap.

It’s a non-lethal form of communication and quite frankly sometimes I deserve it.

A bitch slap, performed correctly, with the right amouny of follow-through can do much more damage than a punch. Nasty, internal damage.

If the woman is twice the mans size… i guess he should hit her back ( if he has some serious balls!)
If the man could control the woman by using restraint then there is no need to ‘hit her back’ imo.
I hate that shit.

I’m sorry, I find that completely unbelievable. I never heard of anyone getting a busted jaw from a bitch slap. Punches, sure. Bitch slaps, no.

Nevertheless, it is true my good Sir! Think of a stone dropping into a pond, it makes ripples. Now think of a person belly-flopping into the pond, it makes an almighty splash and waves. These are the same shock-waves that you can transfer into internal organs if you know what you are doing.
