I used to use ice sometimes about 15 years ago. Weds. around 8pm my husband and I equally split a $40 bag of meth. We partied with it till 11:30am Thurs. Around 1 the comedown hit. My husband was able to sleep around 8:30 pm. I’m still up 5:00 am, and holy shit do I feel aweful. I will never touch this drug again! I’m 5ft 2 in, 120lbs. When will my heart stop pounding? and when will I be able to sleep? Help!
Just wait it out. It will go away by itself. If you have some benzodiazepines ie. diazepam or alprazolam take them to help you sleep. Just try and relax.

Well this ought to be fun. No benzos, damage has been done, I haven’t slept in 2 days, and 2 nights. And I have to work all day. Can’t call in. I make well thought out decisions! Seriously, tho, when should my heart go back to normal?

It should do after a while. It isn’t helped by worrying about your heart rate. Eventually you will return to normal don’t worry 🙂 I had a similar problem after taking a large amount of MDMA once. When your body is ready to sleep it will sleep.
Hey, still have the rapid heartbeat, and its been over 25 hrs since I used. I have a faint pain in my chest, and little halucination spots. Do I need to go to the doctor, or am I being paranoid?
You’re being paranoid, put some trippy music on, watch something trippy, enjoy the sleep deprivation trip mate!
Wish i could get some god dam meth lol all i get is whizz.
aww I hate this part of drugs 🙁 You just want them to wear off and go back to normal but you can’t.
The more you think about it the worse you feel. Watch your favourite sitcom, distract yourself and hope for the best (you should be able to sleep tonight)
I will deffo be hard, but I think you need to try and relax more. I sometimes get feeling like my heart is going to explode. But I think it is you being paranoid. All the best.
Yea, you guys were right. I slept 11 hours last night, and have to head back to work now. I’m moving like molasses today. Ug.

It sounds like you are sleep deprived and quite panicky. Try to do something to take your mind off the situation (something that requires you to concentrate would be preferable).
The more you worry about your heart rate, the longer the racing pulse will persist.

Sounds like complete garbage to me.
“You have a higher survival rate if you concentrate on something complex”.
Completely unprovable, plus there’s the problem of individual taste (some people find turning on a kettle or remaining silent for 60 seconds very complex).

That’s exaggerating it a bit. I think Chrispydelic’s point was that by concentrating on something else in an attempt to relax and by occupying your time in a different way this will decrease the paranoia, panic and worry which is likely to lengthen the time she has this racing pulse. Obviously by relaxing, concentrating hard on calmness and doing calming exercises your pulse rate will slow.

If you so something that requires you to concentrate, then you are able to focus on that rather than the fact that your heart is racing and therefore (in your mind) that you may be dying. Something that requires total concentration but doesn’t increase heart rate will definitely help to reduce the panic sensations and yes, this HAS been proven time and time again and is something that paramedics and doctors as well as hypnotherapists are trained in to help people with panic related symptoms.
It’s no different to talking someone through it when they are having a bad trip.
Turning on a kettle does not count, regardless of who you are. Trying to learn to knit having never done it before on the other hand does.
Even playing a video game is concentration enough to take your mind off your heart, it might not even be beating slower but it should help with the panicky thoughts that make it feel like its getting faster all the time, it’s just in your head
Take some more meth. Might cancel out the affects of the previous use.
