Im after some advice. When is it best to pick them? Where are the ideal places to find them? I no a couple of sheep fields in my area. Im also confused about the whole frost thing. I no it kills them but do they grow before the first frost or after. I live in norfolk and it has rained here for last three days and was wondering if its worth having a hunt for them at the weekend? Im a noobie to all this but have done loads of research on what they look like and where im most likely to find them. But alot of different pages say different things.
Any help is much appreciated.

Sheep fields are good, and it should have been some really cold nights before they pop up….

How cold we talking roughly? Because i feel cold but dont no if thats cold enough. Thanks for advice.

Day temps of under 15c, night temps of under 10c.

There doesn’t need to be livestock on the fields, people find them on golf courses and at parks etc.

The first frost doesn’t necessarily kill them, unless it lasts for a few days but they have been documented growing even in snow (liberty caps that is)

You can find them anywhere there’s grass, but they do tent to like growing near shit.

Thanks for all the help. Its the libs that i want. Dont trust myself picking anything else. Ill just keep looking til i find some. Lets hope i do as ive been wanting to have a go on shrooms for a very long time but never knew anybody to help me get them.

Went for a look today. Found a range of mushrooms. Loads that we cant eat though. But did find wot i think are the magical beasts. But not sure. I didnt pick them as they werent very big and if they are didnt want to waste their potential.

Trust me mate im gonna be asking a fair few opinions before i eat any mushroom. I dont want to end up really ill or dead. Thanks for your help. They were to small to get a good angle didnt want to break them just in case they were magical ones.

Next time if you see anything that is looking relatively good, pick one or two and photograph them sideways on in the palm of your hand.
