So I’ve got a question… I’ve been smoking for over two years on and off. Typically, I’ll go on a binge for a week, and then stay clean anywhere from days to months. Only recently, after a 6 month break, I fell really hard into using and smoke nearly every day.
I have never experienced the skin-picking or meth mouth, which are two possible symptoms of using which absolutely terrify me. Only now I’m starting to notice my gums are bleeding like crazy…
They are constantly sore and my teeth seem fragile and brittle. I have never experienced this before and am hoping that there’s someone who could offer some oral care advice for a functioning addict. I read a couple threads regarding supplements and other types of care for the body, but when it comes to this problem, I really don’t know what to do.
I brush my teeth regularly, or even more than normal because of my habit, but now when I do, it’s extremely unpleasant and painful and I wind up spitting out tons of blood. Maybe I should try a different method of administration? Is it the smoking that’s causing the problem? How do I take care of my mouth?
