I know this is a MASSSSIVE talking point when it comes to MDMA, but its always left me somewhat confused..
When the ‘magic’ is lost, does one simply not have fun on the drug anymore? Or does the drug just cease to posses empathetic qualities that it does for people who are new to it?
Obviously MDMA has other positives bar the love for others, I’m really hoping someone can shed light on this for me..
When I use, I always have fun, but never find myself smiling ear to ear out of nowhere, who knows.. Maybe I have lost the magic!
You just get used to the buzz and it becomes nothing amazingly special anymore. It’s a combination of brain chemistry and familiarity.

bingo!!!
Just means you need better quality gear.
Just kidding, pretty much what Daft said. Although can’t say it’s ever lost the magic for me despite excessive use at times; guess I’m a lucky one.
I dont think I have lost it either..
I do take admittedly unhealthy amounts though.. I know for a fact I’d hardly even notice a standard 140mg dose..
It seems like the more I use md, the more I need to take to get the desirable effects.. Seems logical anyway.

That’s a physical tolerance mate. I too generally start at no less than 200mg, although 300mg is my preferred starter dose. Such amounts would turn most people that aren’t experienced users into sledging messes, just gives me the desired buzz though.
I’ve only done the stuff a handful of times, an each time I’ve not felt this magic thing so many talk about, just really awake and aware. Although, one time I had a free yard when living with the parental units, I did kind feel the magic, though my eyes where doing cart wheels so could see the magic…..shazzam muthafucka
I’ve known a few people who haven’t had complete euphoria when taking MDMA for the first time, I’ve always put it down to dud gear or a too small or large of a dose, but thinking about it, peoples starting brain chemistry and or any meds that change brain chemistry that they may be on could have a big effect on how they experience MDMA.
I used to know a guy down my road in his 50’s who was telling me he hates MDMA as it makes him really angry and violent! TBF he is a total psychopath with severe violent tendencies anyway, so it leads me to believe that it’s because of the way his brain is wired up, or the fact that he has such a bad mental blockage he’s mind just rejects taht kind of stimulation and it triggers his fight or flight reaction (similar to what that solider dude experienced from that channel 4 documentary “drugs live” where because of his programing in the military he couldn’t let him self go and his mind just rejected the feeling extreme pleasure from the serotonin rush and it turned him violent and angry iirc).
Not saying your a violent psychopath or anything gaz lol, just using them as examples of how some mindsets and other contributing factors can stop it doing what it’s supposed to do.

AT electric daisy carnival in Las Vegas 2 years ago there was a premed (whatever the fuck that really means) student from Arizona who had a psychotic reaction to “molly” in much of a similar manner as the people you mentioned and somehow managed to get through the gate in her high rise window and jumped out. She was schitzing at the fest and her friends left her and let her go back to the hotel.(IMO camping fests are superiour)
Her parents came out and said it was foul play or whatever and that she wouldn’t do drugs yada yada. Makes you wonder what kind of psychological pressures were on the poor girl that caused her to snap from a roll pill. totally unexpected from a college kid to get psychotic paranoia like that from Xtc.
Just looked up the story again and turns out she had MDMA, GHB and Meth in her sys, but they couldn’t conclude if the meth was metabolite of the MDMA or seperate. We have such a shit culture of buying whatever the fuck as “molly” or “acid” here in america and thinking its the pure.
You often find when people completely loose the plot like this it’s a mixture of diferant drugs and booze, but in the media it only ever seams to be one drug that gets the blame!

This something I’ve seen as a bit of recurring theme from a few of our American users. When we say Mandy, here in UK, you mean pure mdma; the Americanism of this is obviously Molly. But Molly doesn’t appear to necessarily mean pure mdma in the States, rather whatever it is just contains mdma. Although like you said many Americans don’t seem to realise this and unknowingly buy what may only be partially mdma thinking it is nothing but.

Yep, an acquaintance of mine went to the first (Grateful) Dead show of their most recent tour in 2009 and bought what they thought to be Acid. Turns out the LSD from the Grateful Dead Family didn’t show up until they played in NYC, so what she bought was DOB which has a trip of about 24 hours so she ended up going to the Hospital and getting valium to calm her down, poor girl thought she was going to tripping for forever. Apparently the hospital people said not to take stuff you didn’t know the contents of.
I feel like alot of this problem is a bunch of N00B’s in the American drug scene and a shitty rave culture revolving around shitty music in the USA. We don’t do trance and hardstyle we do trap and dubstep.
Ultra fest in Miami is the best example, pretty much all their seizures for Molly turned out to be Methylone this past year. Used to be the confiscated MDMA was actually MDMA.
