Its not particularly popular nor available in NL either – although they only have “softdrugs” and “harddrugs” legal classes, the penalties are stronger if something causes more harm to users and society. small time dealers only go to prison if they sell stuff that lands people in hospital with physical or mental problems (otherwise they just get their profits ahd drugs confiscated after a weekend in the cells).
Just checked a couple of news reports (2012 and 2014) of chemical investigation from sewage water (this is done across Europe); looked very briefly at a page University report from the late 2000s (this is 243 pages long and in Dutch; I might read some more of it at the weekend if I remember) Also checked a few Dutch language forums similar to this one; all of which say its use is relatively infrequent as folk can get plenty of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis and there are less risks in using or dealing them.
Even speedfreaks there are wary of meth.
One tweet from 2013 said there were pills containing it but the lad posting it warned users against them as they were “dangerous” (which if sold as xtc-pills to youths could well end up being so).
The reports also say there are more speed users in other provincial towns and rural/border areas than Amsterdam (a lot of it most likely consumed by respectable people doing respectable jobs and going unnoticed).
