I am working on a documentary for a major TV broadcaster.
The documentary premise is about drug use in the UK and what really goes on. We have seen hundreds of documentaries showing users as addicts, ill and desperate. But what about the other 99% of drug users. What happens with them?
We would love to film three main things
1. a group of friends on a night out and an after party. We would like to show you using the drugs and what happens to you once you have taken them. We are mainly focusing on legal highs, ketamine and mcat.
2. A user who has gone that next level. They are injecting legal highs, ketamine or mcat. We want to see how this person is dealing with this.
3. Chem Sex Parties – We want to meet a chem sex party. Show what happens, the opinions of the people at the parties and the outcome of them. Obviously, nothing sexual.
All filming can hide peoples faces but the more people open to showing their face the better. Please email teerexproductions@gmail.com if you can help or know someone who can.
Teddy
Can I ask why you’re focusing on Ketamine and Mephedrone in particular? Is it because Meph was the most recent RC that was relatively harmless, until everyone started keeling over. And K I guess just because it’s popular?
Or is it in fact because they are both chemicals that are savage on your body, so you’ll get a nice skewed view of people fucking up on drugs?
Find it hard to see how your programme will be in any way pro drug. Surely if it demonstrates drugs are good, everyone should at least try it before they knock it (as pro suggests), then it won’t get broadcast. Even channel 4 don’t have balls to make that statement, they proved that with the very disappointing live ecstasy trials.
At best you can hope to produce a neutral programme, showing both pros and cons. Sorry for seeming cynical but we’ve heard this before. If your answer satisfies me, I may indulge you some more.
Ps. I dabble in the odd bit of RC experimentation, I don’t like Mephedrone, I do like Ketamine but don’t do it often because of the risks.
The idea is to make something more educational. We want to basically say – “look, people do drugs, but how can we help people do it safely.” This is for BBC three, which is very much committed to voice the opinions of the younger viewer. Telling them drugs are bad, addictive and will kill you will not help any 16 year olds. They will come in to contact with them. We just want to make sure they know what they are doing and how to do it without any risks.
Telling kids they will destroy your body is about as useful as banning smoking adverts from TV. People will still try it. There are so many things that can ruin peoples lives that are legal. They don’t need another lecture. They need support.

So you’re approaching it with the Northern European (mostly Dutch) attitude? Okay, I dig that. About time really the media and government hauled their asses out of the dark ages, and had a greater tolerance to drug use; since it’s a ‘problem’ that’ll never go away. If anything, especially with the emergence of the RC market and deep web over the last few years, it’s something that will continue to grow. Plus, with easier access to a wider variety of substances and the fact we’re pretty much in global turmoil as a species; sure it’ll lure more youngsters in, either out of pure curiosity or the need for an escape.
What age range are you looking at/for? I’m 26 btw.
Yeah exactly that. People are beginning to realise that drugs will always be a part of our lives. We just need to engage it rather than wash our hands of it. It’s good that the media are slowly coming round to it. Hopefully one day, when a guy dies at a festival, the headline won’t read “legal highs kill 18 year old boy” but rather “tragic accident kills 18 year old”.
Our age range is 18-35, anything older would be wasted. We want people who have grown up with Legal Highs rather than people who have lived through many eras of drug change. 26 is a perfect age really. You’ll have best of both worlds. Plus, viewers will listen to someone in their twenties over an old man haha

Yeah I agree completely. It annoys me greatly that the media give headlines such as ‘teen dies at festival after xtc overdose’, ignoring factors such as they’ve probably been drinking alcohol or possibly had a dodgy pill with PMA in rather than MDMA.
I’m interested in possibly taking part, I’m not ashamed of my fondness for a variety of substances. However, I know it would likely bring shame on my family should they see it. I mean I’m open, and my family know what drugs I do and don’t do, but I don’t think they’d appreciate witnessing it
I will add at this point, I am quite high on Alpha-Methyltriptamine right now. This substance (more commonly known as AMT) has been on the RC market for some time but thankfully (IMO) didn’t ever become very popular. Certainly not like Drone did anyway. Unfortunately though it is being taken off most vendors shelves with the impending ban, the ban may already have been implemented for all I know. But basically a few people have recently overdosed on the stuff taking silly amount like 300mg, a good dose is around 35-40mg, a strong dose is 70-80mg for your average tolerance.
But unfortunately these people weren’t educated, they hadn’t done the research to find out you can’t do big bombs like with MDMA. IMO mostly their own fault for not researching at least what a dose should be, but partially if these were accepted as drugs a few people choose to use; then maybe safety guidelines would be more readily accessible.
I have more to say but I’m just chatting now lol
Shouldn’t a documentary begin by being unbiased. Also the BBC have done a shocking job in the past and you say you want to show people injecting ketamine? Good luck making that look glamarous, and on top of that a drug crazed sex party. You sir are insane, maybe try some aMT as the psyentist and myself recommend at every oportunity and come back when you are enlightened.
Well it will be broadcast on BBC three. It isn’t usually viewed by many middle aged or above people. So hopefully family members will not tune in.
Do you have friends who would also like to share their experiences with us? It would be great if we could film a party and show various peoples views on the party. We just want as many opinions as possible really.
Now if you were channel 4….
So far you’ve broadcast; Europe’s Dirty Drugs Secret and Thailand’s Drug Craze, which are just the 1st 2 I’ve found. Also to show people injecting is just beyond any idea of being pro-drugs. Showing the darkest underbelly of users is far from unbiased and as far removed from pro=drugs as possible. If you wanna talk about injecting whatever. talk about needle exchanges and ways people make it safer for users who inject. I can’t take you seriously.

We are being unbiased in the documentary. We aren’t putting our opinions down anyones throats. We are asking a bunch of users their views. I only advertised it as a pro drugs documentary to try and get some discussion. I am pretty sure any drug users we interview will be pro drugs. Ketamine is actually better for you if it is injected. We have done a lot of research and discovered that sniffing ketamine is actually worse for internal organs and the harm caused by injecting it.
regarding your enlightened comment… I was a heroin addict for five years. I don’t need to be talked down to about drugs and drug use. I’ve done it all, and suffered the consequences, but I still understand that the drugs are not to blame for the problems, it is the people. An addict is an addict, whether it be drugs or not. They will always find someway of seeking an escape from their life. This is why I want to try help people in their journeys with drugs. I want to try and guide people and support the people with issues.

So you lied.

You are as bad as the general public. How can you tell me injecting is the lowest of the low without even understanding it? You see a junkie and you think you know who they are? Injecting is only so harmful when done five times a day every day, using dirty rain water to fill up your pipe with a needle you found on the floor because you don’t want to see anyone at the needle exchange. Brilliant. You have all the answers.

I don’t look down at them, I’ve been an addict myself, I’ve even stated here Iwas on methadone, but you stated you wanted to show people injecting ketamine, a drug fueled sex party and god knows what else. I find what you are telling us very hard to believe.

The point is about safe use. Ket is a class C drug yet is one of the most harmful I have come across. Yet, people who inject it talk about the benefits. No pissing out their insides. Surely it is better to tell a Ket addict that its safer to inject rather than sniff. They will also use less of the substance when injecting which will also benefit them. A sex party is a great way of advertising what goes on behind closed doors. Everyone thinks these chem sex parties are full of the type of people who will come round and rape your kids, but they aren’t. Surely its better to speak to the source rather than listen to another conservative newspapers tell us what they don’t know.
i understand if people don’t want to take part, but please don’t make out like i’m trying to make people look stupid on camera.
