Not a molecule I know much about which put’s it on a level pegging with every other molecule, but this may interest some:
The dark side of oxytocin, much more than just a ?love hormone? : Not Exactly Rocket Science
lol i was in an oxytocin research study with a nasal spray but not similar to the one they mentioned as far as aim all i remember is them taking alot of blood draws for research and answering a bunch of questions.
No noticeable affect on mood or anything?
i didn’t know if i was placebo or not so to me there was some nominal mood lift that could also have been attributable to placebo but def not earth shattering
After reading a bit I’m not sure you’d actually notice anything yourself but IDK, I know almost nothing about this molecule.
well with these research studies they aren’t going to be giving huge doses like a recreational drug user might expect so the effects or lack thereof might be underwhelming
if they gave you a ton of oxytocin you’d probably notice something
Yeah I can well believe a high enough dose will do something, whether in a good, bad or life alteringly/ending way.
yeah and thats not what they are looking for so they probably end up underdosing the nasal spray compared to what would be ideal bc they don’t want anyone dieing or having a bad reaction
Most probably but if there’s one place I’d feel better ODing/ having a bad reaction it would be surrounded by medical staff.
true that but they’d rather you not OD in the first place so they won’t ever provide you with a questionably large dose to start with
Yeah I realize that mate. They’ll soon know what happens in an OD when people get more curious or whatever and sniff a full bottle.
eh, i don’t think there was enough oxytocin is one of the spray bottles they gave me to OD on even if i’d done the whole month’s worth in one sitting.. also the stuff was calibrated so that you’d do 3 sniffs in the morning and 3 in the evening so thats 120 sniffs in a month, so it’d be a pain in the arse to do 120 sniffs one after another.
Ah I see, thanks for pointing that out DB.
i mean don’t get me wrong i wish they were just giving you a gram of oxytocin or whatever they were reseraching to do whatever you want in the name of scientific research but that would be wreckless and their methodology would come into question reallly quickly.. not to mention the wrongful death lawsuits
i’m just glad they are doing research studies with oxytocin although it is a neurotransmitter so i think it is subject to more variability amongst individuals than say MDMA because it is closer to being a basic component of the brain .. just a guess of mine
Your guess sounds reasonable to me DB, from what I’ve read it can affect different people in very different ways. I think it’s actually a hormone, so says wikipedia.
