Well, I was about 22 years old, hadn’t talked to my parents in a couple of years. It was Christmas time and I decided to call home to see about getting together for the holidays. Well it turned out there was no Christmas happening because my parents had been divorced for 8 months. I thought it was all my fault and got really depressed. Then I got my hands on a hundred lot of really good acid. I did it in two days and continued to be psycho long after I should have gotten it out of my system. Spent two weeks in the mental ward then was on huge doses of thorazine for six months before I started to come down.
For anyone who goes through something like that, don’t worry, two years later I put myself through university for computer science and graduated top of my class. Got married for 13 years and had two sons who I love dearly who are both now going through university on their own, one wants to b e an electronic engineer, the other wants to be a doctor. I’m living by myself now so there’s nothing to stop me from pursuing an intensive study of ethnobotanicals when I’m not busy programming and I share my room which is where I work most of the time with 16 songbirds who don’t believe in cages.
I have always believed that since we only have one life to experience things that those experiences should be as intense as it is possible to go through and survive.
By the way ladies, I’m single once more if I haven’t terrified you all away!

I’m so glad you eventually quit the shuffle and got some pretty neat things going in your life…and I think it’s crappy your birds flying around in your room, but hey, that’s par for the course. How neat. That turned out to be a good story.

I firmly believe that moderate use of psychedelics and amfetamine is extremely beneficial to computer science (or science and engineering as a whole). Would be interested to see any pics/videos of the birds; I’ve heard of zoology profs doing this (especially with the owl; which is a well behaved quiet perching bird) and I know fo a Buddhist dude who rescues every stray animal in the North East of the Netherlands where they all live in peace in a large barn; but this is the first I’ve heard of a computer prof keeping an open aviary in their workshop raaa

Believe it or not the most recent time I tripped out BIG TIME was after a frightening amount of those green heineken E’s that are doing the rounds at the moment (each pill contains atleast 200mg MDMA +), I was stood trying to take a piss for about 20 mins (those of you who know the horrible side effect from taking too many E’s = you aint gonna piss), Anyway I was slipping in and out of consciousness every time I opened my eyes I was some where else, absolute madness :crazy:

took a microdot was out of it for three days..have taken acid a good few times mixed experiences.with the microdot ended up staring at a ligghtbulb..painted the squat blue rode a motor bike..ended up in the country going crazy..dosn’t sound like much but was intense as didn’t know when was gonna come down..am working and studying now so don’t take so much have had many beautiful experiences on acid though.

Thank you! Actually the birds flying around is my idea. What is a bird but a creature of the air. If you could fly would you want to spend your life in a little box. Yes, it is messy but not too bad as the birds tend to congregate in certain areas. For those I have thick sheets of plastic hanging or draped over things and most of the time all I really need to do is wash them once in a while. The birds spend all their waking hours singing happily so I know in my heart it is worth it after all.

I understand, amphetamine psychosis is where you could end up and that is no lightweight problem. I understand the binging though, I have a prescription for dexedrine and I pop a weeks worth in one shot. The hardest thing for me to do is not keep taking it day after day and giving it a few days in between, it just feels so good to be happy for so long. I’ve ordered some theobromine, a derivative of cocoa which is supposed to produce euphoria at a dose of 500 mg. I’m going to check it out and if it works I can still feel good even on the days I’m not speeding. I’ll let you know the results.
