the inquests for the 3 lads were completed recently. Unfortunately the local news site search is playing up so I can’t post a link to the source report but it was found the two young men of East European ancestry had overdosed om PMA ; the third New Year victim (an English lad in his 20s) had OD’d on a large amount of MDMA in the pills he had; which he had consumed alongside cocaine and alcohol.
Shortly after this incident the dealer of the Superman pills (a young man who was also of East European ancestry) actually handed himself in to Suffolk Constabulary and told cops where all the others were to stop them falling into wrong hands (they were not dumped in the street as some media reports of the time imply).
This does confirm my suspicions that increasingly “locals” and “foreigners” have split apart in their socialising and that zerotolerance rules added to other cultural changes in 20 years are merely splitting up users into smaller groups who do larger amounts at a time; which is putting people at more risk as people aren’t sharing experiences (good or bad) as much.
Although there wasn’t the scientific knowledge available in the 90s we did have at least basic (mostly text based) internet and it was used to share warnings of “snide/contaminated” pills and/or particularly strong ones + harm reduction info..
