If someone who knows how to synthesize NaBr* or KBr* could help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it. I realize they
are both dirt cheap to buy in bulk but still. I can’t follow along with the fuckers at erowid.

you just mix Na or K and Br up in a jar and its NaBr or KBr, i think thats what i learned in school.

i don’t think we have many chemists on the board. honestly buying it is probably the easiest way, i understand if thats not possible for you though.

i’m not 100% clear what you mean when you can’t follow along with the ppl on erowid… do they have a synth up there?

Elemental bromine is a wicked oxidizer and reacts with water, it’d fuck up your skin wouldn’t it? If it’s stored in lead-lined steel containers, I don’t know if I’d want to toss some of it in a test tube.

Plus it’s supposed to smell like NaClO real bad :yakk:

I can’t follow the steps for the syntheses on the rhodium archive, it’s much too complicated.

i figured it was in rhodo.. i could take a look at the snyths on rhodo but if you can’t figure it out i’m not gonna be able to either. best luck would be someone coaching you through it(maybe methyldreams), but thats less than ideal. theres probably not any easier way to do it than whats on rhodo

they’ve got stuff like ele bromine from like 100 years ago in sealed tubes in a show case at my college. kinda interesting i guess. elemental bromide would be terrible for you, like mercury, i guess Ga is a cool room temp element cuz it melts

I spilt a LOT of fucking Hg on my lawn (and I live on a tiny-ass peninsula surrounded by water) and got SO MUCH SHIT from my town office.

Liquid metals are cool though..

Not a clue, none of that meant anything to me. We used to have members that would have had an answer but everyone’s just a cyber sex freak nowadays. Place is getting gradually lamer.
