It may surprise some of you out there to know this (apart from those who have met me) but at parties I’m actually a fairly quiet and shy person……

Despite the amount of stuff I post on here, IRL I still sometimes find it very hard to let go of my inhibitions and talk to new people (plus I find it difficult hearing or speaking to people over the sound of rigs) – I was always shy even when I was a young boy and to be fair I reckon raves made me come out of my shell a lot more than I would have otherwise.. (I’ve still met loads of new people over the years many of whom are now good friends…)

Anyway what I’m getting at is theres 150-200 of you logging on here every night, from all corners of the World; yet it seems sometimes that only a handful of people actually pluck up the courage to post here…

Although PV has a reputation for good solid info particularly on the legal and media monitoring side; I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more people talking about themselves, their party activities and life in general and I’m sure the other mods and regulars here would agree.

All we say is just leave out any “incriminating stuff” and keep any personal arguments away from here!

There are so many of you on here and you probably have loads of stories, ideas and other stuff to share.

Its only the internet; and we try to make this place as friendly as possible – why not register and contribute?

pretty good speech man, i’m sure it’s reflected in thoughts of many although don’t forget we party people are an “extremely unpretentious”/snobby bunch of old farts to be fair and although at any time between the hours of 12pm and 10am we feel the urge to tell any fucker who’ll listen all about how interesting and actually stimulating our real nine to five lives are… outside of that box as you have demonstrated we are a pretty cagey old bunch….

mostly leading to commercial stuff but there are links to regular and cheap club nights as well as bigger commercial raves – perhaps if you went to one and made a few friends you could find more info on free events.

It may be the case that they do not happen very often as its easier (than the UK) to put on low-cost club nights and there are less restrictions; OTOH with all the space, beaches etc you would think that some happened. That said I would expect the laws to be similar to the UK so a lot of info would be kept underground…

If you do find any good events please let us know what they were like!

yup… i came up with the same info so figures like you say it’s gonna be case of meet and greet…. i’m quite looking forward to the idea of being a complete unknown… it might be nice to be in a place and just imagine that i don’t know what goes in all of the dark corners and know to avoid the pains in the arse… a bit like a pick and mix of experiences if that makes sense… cheers for the time man…

Try looking up the CyberCulture lot in Auckland, they have a record shop on the K. road and should be able to steer you in the right direction. They tend to be a cagey bunch about free parties in NZ though… 🙂

Hello to everyone by the way. Been absent for a while as i’ve been geeking it up on GTA San Andreas and have been busy at work.

I’ve been missing it though.

although I’m not a big guy I sometimes get the same problem – it may also be ethnicity as well – you don’t get that many Asians at raves and some who do attend (due to their actions) have gained a reputation for being moody and even robbing people.

(I don’t normally “play the race card” BTW but I’ve seen posts about this issue on other boards over the years and heard comments at parties as well …)

Admittedly I probably do look like a shifty rude bwoy sometimes – particularly after a long night 😀 – but I think I’m a decent person really..

It does become a bit of a vicious circle as you get more para and less likely to speak to new people, and the lifestyle of long hours and other stuff doesn’t help….

TBH I find it easier to make real friends around the start/end of parties when they have calmed down a bit or by contributing something to the party rather than giving ir the large one all the time which is prolly why a lot of my friends are in crews 🙂 I am trying to socialise a bit more during the week as well but I work long hours which can make things difficult…

As for the paypal donations, it may be better to set up your own account, just in case the system chokes on the different card number… I found it only took a few seconds to set up an account..

as for this board as a whole what I’m really getting at is I’d like to see a bit more of the community aspect as well –

There are a few regular posters but it seems a lot of people just lurk here or only use the board like a surrogate partyline or for plugging their events; this may be fine for pay events but in our country (UK) sensitive info on free parties just can’t be posted here for obvious reasons; cops are clamping down and we don’t want to give them info on a plate.

whilst I’m sure no one wants the board filled up with rubbish which looks like your pets jumped on the keyboard, nor anything too offensive (one brilliant thing about this site is you can read it at work without anything that looks too inappropriate appearing)I’m sure there are lots of other stuff and experiences people can share.. lets make this place a bit more than an electronic flyer distribution; maybe a bit like the upstairs rooms in the warehouse where people chill out and talk but without the smashy crew and people pissing in the corners..

some of you already do this but I’d so like to see some more…

This morning my little package of 2-CT-2 arrived from good ole US of A, and now, i’m getting ready to head into the chemistry labs at uni to weigh myself a wee taste. Other than that, i was out in Edinburgh at a free d&b night, after an evening listening to a mate play sax at a jazz club. Nice.
Today i’ll mainly be reading- I found a fascinating book on Gladstone and Disreilli in the oxfam bookshop for a quid and i haven’t been able to put it down since. Think i might try and find some new tunes aswell.

Did you buy an expensive rare tune thinking it was the original, only to receive a poor quality repress bundled with some other crap by any chance?

I’m sure they have a cutter there were they just press up dire quality rare tunes and sell them for disgusting prices. I’m not sure whether the producers and labels know this though. Maybe we should inform them.
