  • From the BBC. I’ve heard about the midweek raves in this area, but am not sure TBH if they are such a good idea; surely this compounds the disruption they cause to wider society? Even if you don’t have work, others do and the extra traffic doesn’t help matters.

    Concern over ‘regular’ day raves
People living in mid-Bedfordshire are being asked to help officers stop illegal raves in the area.

Police closed down a rave near Lidlington on Sunday morning next to the A421 carriageway between the village and M1 motorway.

A tip off phone call from an unnamed member of the public alerted them to the gathering. A police spokesman said there was concern that raves were increasingly being held during the week.

sometimes yes and sometimes no IMO

been to some really friendly and loud psy parties at one site on full moon

and the moon is no respecter of a weekend raver :bounce_fl

but if noise is travelling from your site during the week, that’s likely to warrent some attention :crazy_fre

    Oooh midweek raves..

Any1 got any info lemme know
May not b a good idea but if they’re gonna happen might aswell go :alcoholic

look what you’ve started GL :bulb:

The ones I heard about (long before this news report) were smaller and apparently had a “cinema” where they showed films on a projector. From what I heard they were good, but they would have to be in remote woods, with smaller numbers and cause less overt disruption otherwise people are really gonna get fucked over by the old bill, it would be seen as proper taking the piss!

TBH I would expect only college students, the unemployed and those who work weekends and have different rest days would attend a midweek do – then again more worrying IMO would be someone who goes to one and does have a job, and then drives again to work (on roads far busier than they would be on Sunday!) a few hours later sleep-deprived…

The party reported by the bbc was one that was shut down a couple of times in the TVP area on the sat night but the convoy just kept following the rig van everywhere it went, and eventually got going at 10.30am sunday morning , finished around 5pm, so not a midweeker just an all dayer!

Been to a couple of midweek raves , and friday and sunday raves, i find the dont tend to cause anywhere near as much disturbance as the systems are usually smaller and theres less people.

nothing wrong with a bit of a walk to the venue, many people do not get enough exercise as it is :bounce_fl

here is a funny true story… (details removed to protect people involved)

there was one [weekend] party where there was a 2.5 mile track to walk down to reach the venue.

Some people arrived on the Sunday morning. Along the way they encountered two bobbies, red-faced and out of breath.

How much longer do we have to walk?” asked the cops

“Its about another mile or so…” replied some ravers…

The cops stood around for a bit (letting the ravers pass them) – and were not seen again.

I always thought cops (in the UK at least) tried to be fit and healthy (you always read about them in the press doing marathons, cycle races and other sports etc…) – obviously not those two…

hahaha, thats a wicked story, clearly a case of too many dougnuts

i have no problem walking to parties, just one thursday night we managed to make something like a 45 minuet walk from the party to the car take 3 hours round fields and diving into ditches one at a time to test if they had rivers in them, proper funny night.
