I had a look there, and all I saw on the link which mentioned Czechtek was a link to a news site and a picture of two blokes with uniforms marked “POLICIE” and a nasty-looking baton (bigger than the ones our cops get!), looking at a hippy 🙁
Last years Czechtek was busted by their police on direct instructions of their Prime Minister (a 34 year old :wtf:- he’s younger than some of the ravers I know…). they had a few good days raving but I’ve seen the pics and the POLICIE do not look at all friendly and have guns/CS gas etc. I think they may have left alone the foreigners but come down really hard on the locals later…some CS gas was discharged as well.
Although other politicians criticised him for this actions he stood by them as “we need to clamp down on these unlicensed events as now we are in the EU :confused::wtf:” it would appear that for this situation to arise in a country which has had this event for years on end previously, there has
been a large backlash against it for some reason.
This situation means that the Czech rave/alternative community need to plan their event more discreetly and carefully if it is to go ahead, and naturally would not want too much given away too soon (same as situation in the UK).
There are people on this board from CZ who I’m sure will provide more info when it is appropriate…
