    heres the official bunf:

    PSYCHO ACOUSTICS
    AT
    THE VOLKS, BRIGHTON
    17TH OF JANUARY 2006

Native Beats, the drum and bass freeparty massive, are bringing a string of fresh fortnightly clubnights from january at the volks on Brighton seafront.

The night is gonna start live and get hard and dark, starting with live acts blending into freeparty drum and bass from residents djs zeal, asbo and criminal element alongside a long roster of rotating guests.

Downstairs will be hosted by the legendary Itsy Bitsy sound system, veteran rave chillout crew.

visuals supplied by primal visions and catarax.

    ………

We’re going every fortnight so if anyone wants to get involved let us know, check the site http://www.psycho-acoustics.co.uk for full info and to contact us or to send demo’s.

We’re trying to keep it nice and varied, but it’ll mainly be DnB and Hip Hop upstairs but we’re always open to new ideas…….

Sweet. What day of the week? I’ll make sure I’m working.

Suggestions: Canadian Ragga-Jungle- it’s new, it’s rough, and it’s fun as fuck. I’ll pass a cd on to USE at some point.

Also- I’ve got plenty of connections for decor, vj’s etc.

    It’s on a Tuesday…..
decor would be incredible, we’ve got a few vj’s on the case but we’re always up for spreading the word and hearing new ideas…

Canadian Ragga jungle???……..if its real, i’d like to hear it. Can’t quite get my head round it tho. send it to me or Use

    d’you live in b’ton??

this will be phat, make no mistake. doin clubnights in brighton is a bit like watering your garden in a rainstorm tho, its so over staurated. still, when people see what we have to offer, it’ll be us doin the natural drenching. i have all the decor designed for the club, but no funds, which couldnt be much shitter. fingers crossed i get loads of paint and fabric for crimbo.

its cut loose at the pressure point tonight, i’ll prolly roll along with the nervy one at some point. sorry to have missed your set the other night, binge, it slipped my mind. how was the oldskool madness?

Not great. Barely 50 people, we lost £100. But four of us so we shared the cost. Was good fun though- great to hear old skool coming out of the system.

Unfortunately, can’t make cutloose, as i’m working at 11, but may be in the druids beforehand (for the warm up sets)

Incedently, the guy who runs cutloose was vjing on tues! As for the decor- i know loads of the psy-trancers, so there’s always loads of trippy options around.

As for the ragga-jungle….hmmm. I’ll try and remember to have a cd with me in the druids. I reckon you’ll enjoy it.

I’ve done 3 tues nights so far- going from 116, to 80, to 50 people, with strangely- the amount of advertising going in the opposite way (i.e. sod all for the first night!) so its all a bit hit-and-miss.

Its a case of keeping those posters up! (It can get quite militant at times!)

yep, brighton’s pretty ruthless about promo…..we’ve got some pre – flyer, flyer’s at the mo advertising the idea and ‘ting. I’m sure we’ll be down Druids if you can have the canadian ragganess on cd…………….we’ll get you with the flyers too.

stick it the top when you get a chance, nervy, i cant seem to edit your posts myself (where has my power gone? :alien_abd )

    bump

prolly should mention that beer’s £1.60 and vodka’s £1…….and it opens at 9pm.

The next 2 are on the 17th and 31st January and every fortnight after.

well, here goes nothin’. its the day of the party, the dude with some of the decor is running hours and hours late, so i have lots of stencils with nowt to spray onto. yay.

on the plus side of things, its a glorious day down on the coast, perfect for some last minute flyering…nice weather means less moody fuckers scowling at you when you try and hand em the bills. plus no rain (touch wood) should mean more heads.

i am properly bricking it. the night should be phatness itself, but who can rightly say what the future is gonna bring. the best laid plans of mice and men and all that….

    phatness ..

Nuff said. Nice to meet everyone i did (only being there for the last hour.

Go on till 3 next time!

yeah we’ll do 10 – 3 fo sho, as it was we weren’t ready to open at 9 so we lost the best part of an hour…..at least we know now.

We’re back in 2 weeks on 31st with another sick line up….again some hiphopness and dnb

im still reveling in the memories of the night. everything that went wrong happened before the night, which i am still thanbking the eternal tao for. finally got the catarax and primal visions vj crews to play together, and even met vj spank to boot, who was safe as. the whole night was just far too fun for its own good. it all just went perfect. some girl from my a-level college who ihavent seen in about 6 years even recognised me and made a blatant pass! all i can say that is bad, is that now we’ve got to try and maintain the night, which will be no mean feat. luckily we only have two more until the volks has a refurb and we get a break to gather ourselves.

massive shout out to everyone who came down, binge, paul m and mat the cat in particular. cant wait to see the photos!

oh yea, and a massive shout out to itsy bitsy, a lot of the time the downstairs feels neglected, but they totally made it their own and gave people somewhere to avoid the mcing and have a slightly more chilled vibe. absolutely priceless.
