  • This is a calling for the UK Tek…

This year it needs to happen last year was a shambles with seperate teknivals all over the UK… It’s time to unite forces!

Decisions are beeing made regarding whether it will be held August or may bank holidays…

Bbut this year preperation is beeing made early so let’s fucking have it…

Please PM me for details, those with equipment PM me, a meeting is beeing organised for April to ensure that selected people know the flex…

fingers crossed its in Aug, got to go and watch one of my mates play on the may bank hols and will b fuckin gutted if i miss the tek.

Seconded. My final uni exams are in may!

I’ve recently moved to wales to “study” (apparently). I know that last year the uktek was in wales, although the wherabouts im not so sure of as I dont really know this country to well. However, thats not the point. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any details of it this year? As far as I know it was a legal party so I dont see what the problems would be with posting about this on here. Is there a definate date and location for it? Is it even on this year? Any info would be much appreciated! Thankyou.

the UK tek is unlicensed, and as its name suggests could happen anywhere in the UK (apart from NI I suppose)

It is not a legal event – the cops attempted to roadblock it but by that time loads of vehicles had already got on site. Despite not stopping the event they kept on checking and searching vehicles, at one point cops from two separate forces were there and a dog unit – including an unmarked traffic car with covert camera kit and CID dressed up as early 90s ravers which had been sent all the way from Swansea!

the local councillor claimed it was an “invasion” of the area.

There are tolerated outdoor events in Wales at Tipi Valley which are currently legal and if everyone who attends or organises them is careful not to overdo things and cause problems to others then they should be able to continue.

would have been unethical and risky for all concerned. Journos/Activists who take pics of CID and circulate them are usually investigated by Special Branch, as are the websites they appear on.

I can’t blame the authorities for doing this, as the rave scene (and the wider activist “community”) has always contained a number people that are involved in crime and violence and who enjoy the “fun” of having rucks with the authorities (or with each other) more than achieving anything positive.

We may not like what cops do sometimes but they have a legal right to do it, including covert work. To be fair they seemed to be only looking for big time dealers. heroin users and drug drivers (which they found).

Cops also end up picking up the pieces when ravers go bad (such as when drug users turn to crime or violence) so hardly surprising they try and investigate the scene.

In an increasingly angry, hateful world where society is breaking down and people are increasingly taking matters into their own hands I am loath to circulate any sort of photo that would endanger the livelihood or safety of another human – even one involved in things ravers do not agree with.

Those same young detectives could be catching a violent rapist in a Swansea nightclub, and we do not have the moral right to judge them when a bunch of us have invaded a whole part of another country without the consenus of all the inhabitants… our victory is the party, not making others’ lives difficult.

A camera can be as powerful as a pistol and IMO must be treated with the same level of respect.

It was indeed a funny sight, they were earlier hanging around with the uniform units so most people realised what the vehicle was and were pointing and laughing. It was a silver Merc as well which looked even more out of place at a free party!

The news article at the bottom of this post gives a rough idea of the region and its previous names (a lot of place names in Wales were changed a few years ago!)

There are people on here who can give better details (search for tipi valley and our crew of Welsh ravers will turn up on here!)

I would suggest the actual area in which the raves happen or accurate directions are not circulated on the public part of this board.

Despite the community being extant since 1976, the Council do not appear to have as yet totally accepted these peoples right to live here, and at least one local farmer has always been against the place existing. Another person who has bought some land in the area wants to remove the tipis to increase property value (presumably by developing the place for “social housing” and creaming off rent from the inhabitants!)

The parties happen as private events and those who attend them do so as guests of the residents, they are not supposed to be “large teknivals/raves”. Under current law people can be booted out of land/houses they own the freehold of if “anti-social behaviour” occurs – if the events get out of hand the residents homes and livelihoods which they have worked for 30 years to build are potentially uinder threat.

ahh thankyou very much. tipi valley looks like my kinda place, gonna have to find out more. I much prefer the ‘hippy-style’ raves, they are much more peaceful and a nicer place to be then the large chavvy ones.

Please don’t PM me asking for numbers…..I’m in Scotland and am not going.

dunno why u think this post is a good idea:you_smart

    please take it down

Because I’ve had about 40 people PM me asking for numbers…..I’m not going and I don’t know them. So its easier if everyone reads this than I have to reply to anymore.

well it saves u a bit of bother 4 u and some other people 2. am i missin the point of the numerous posts remindin people of the ‘public’ nature of this forum, or wot?

the fact ur a moderator really confuses me, so i’m sorry if i’m gettin the wrong end of the stick, but it seems so obvious…

actually i’ve jus had a look around, an we’re not exactly watertight, so i guess it don’t matter.

    🙁 🙁 🙁 :bitter: :bitter: :bitter:

I gave no dates and no location, I just wanted to make it perfectly clear not to PM me as I don’t know the score.
