ASTRIX (HOMmega / Israel
) http://www.astrix.co.il
First Uk Appearance in the last 6 Months!!!
For a full on club experience come dance to some ground breaking music from Astrix. A unique talent hailing from the capital of trance, Astrix is Israel’s finest psytrance music producer. Avi Shmailov aka Astrix has been producing trance for more than five years. Having played at high profile London gigs at the Brixton Academy, Alexandra Palace, SW4, Stratford Rex, SEone, and The Fridge he charms the crowd with his melodies. His first album ‘Eye to Eye’ (2002) is rated as one of the best albums to date for its superior music production and innovation.
Astrix’s sound and production has definitely evolved but invariably continues to hold that special something that his tracks have in common with Infected Mushroom. In between helping his label (HOMmega) artists and working on his own tracks, his sound has evolved into a “symphonic psychedelic storm”. His unique style and crystal clear sound incorporates various genres from metal to rock music which he has fine tuned into his latest album ‘Artcore’.
Astrix doesn’t want to just produce psytrance but invent a new kind of sound. His tracks start with an interesting intro and immediately jump into 145bpm. The tracks have a melodic build up which spray-paint the dance floor with full on dance beats. On ‘Artcore’ (2005), Astrix’s latest album, my favorite track is ‘Tweaky’, it mirrors his production approach by finding a fine balance between the chaos of a dance floor and the coolness of at-home listening.
At the Coronet, Astrix is going to exhaust you with his beautiful melodies and you will wish you could dance forever into eternity.
Dali dances with the crowd. The event at the Coronet is going to showcase her debut album ‘Hectic’ released by HOMmega records. Dalit Eizner (Dali) is one of the few women in the psytrance scene making an entrance as a production artist. Her sets have definitely gotten better since 3 years ago when she started to DJ and curb her interests into producing psytrance. Dali’s sets are inspired by the likes of Astrix and Infected Mushroom. Bubbly and energetic she seems most happy when she’s onstage performing for the crowd. Spinning her new sound and screaming into the microphone Dali is aiming to give her best performance at the Antiworld event.
Xerox and Illumination are the cream of 2006. Their psychedelic experiment has launched them into a class of their own. With cutting edge music style they are producing music that is dark, metallic and hard. Xerox, Moshe Keinan, and Illumination, Amir Dvir, have successfully served their main course in psytrance with their new album XI. For Xerox & Illumination stretching their musical boundaries is what makes them so special.
XI is one album which can be played in a car or a club and will manage to stir your soul. Believe me they are going to shake the roof and stir the dance floor and bring that dark something that’s been missing for so long.
To have them playing at the Antiworld Gig in May is going to make like minded music lovers go ballistic.
Oforia (Live – Album Launch – BNE)Oforia has a distinguished way of making his tracks sound full on yet danceable. At the Coronet you will witness his new album ‘Inner Twist.’ Having been part of the Goa trance scene in the 90’s, Ofer aka Oforia was then making waves by the name of Indoor.
‘Inner Twist,’ his latest production has some great tracks. Ofer is partly responsible for leading the way in Israel’s psy trance scene. The first track on his album is ‘Return of the Machines’, a song with a rhythmic bass sung by B-Wicked. It’s actually the second track ‘Show no Mercy’ with Timelock which will blow the audience away.
In this album his tracks follow up the last track. So while listening to his album one feels that the track never really ended. Infact the whole album seems to give the feel of one big track. One can only imagine what it’s going to do to the dance floor. To say the least Oforia has a complete psychedelic sound and his new album introduces it very well. Oforia’s tracks are remixed by the likes of GMS and Violet Vision.
