I’ve always said how supprised I am at the police down south and heres another reason why…..
Our last Dance Til Dawn(Monkey Business) of the year was last saturday.
After my turn on the decks I took a walk up the path away from the party just to check how far the sound was carrying, only to discover a police van parked up and flashing torches about.
Making a hasty retreat to alert everyone, standard good party goer’s guide stuff, four officers and a sargent from Strathclydes L division turned up to find out what was going on. of course being police they claimed somebody had complained of the noise but after a little chat with me, a reduction in volume and a look at who was there they arrested a girl.
It turned out she had stole a car and wrote it off just up the road, after radioing in the situation they wished us all the best asked us to clear up after ourselves and left!!!!:weee:
So you understand my suprise when I see video’s or hear of the police charging in mob handed down south.
if you’d like to see how much fun we had visit dontstayin.com and look up Dumbarton plenty of pictures, unfortunetly by the time I’d grabbed my camera the police had left.
Thanks must go out to all our regular party goers who kept their heads in this situation.
that’s definately important
the mentality of a significant minority of party goers in the south is what has fucked it for everyone else… not to say the cops have been totally blame free… but in the main all the parties I have been to in the SW have been of very little interest to the cops as long as you are civil, choose your site well and have basic safety precautions in place
for sure – aggravating the officers is not clever and will make them grumpy
[ at the end of day how would you react if you were on the receiving end of it? :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy]

yeah and that was the case in the SE and East of England.. and TBH the “riot raves” are actually only a handful of occasions over 16 years
bear in mind though in England people were doing 10 riggers going on for 3 days and warehouse parties with 30-80K systems, 1500-4000 people
not surprising there was a bit of a backlash…
After a good discusion of the events we reckon we were lucky as the gail force winds and driving rain that battered our tents for the first 4 hours of the night stopped a many of our regulars from coming along. Its good to know that many of your parties do go ahead perhaps its just that we hear so much of the ones that didnt go well.
