  • After the huge interest in the popular media that rave is back (even though it never went away) Mixmag have responded to point out that it never went away.

Mixmag are almost as bad as the mainstream media anyway but it’s not such a bad article:

cant access the site, any chance u could copy and paste it?

It’s a PDF file from a scan of the article so I can’t copy and paste. I can see if I can host it somewhere else though. Hang on.

    😉 cheers mate

I wouldn’t say that it was a bad read (apart from it’s drug glorification period that it went through where every issue used to be a “drugs special”) but they are all about music fashions rather than the true love of music IMO.

They try and steer peoples views (and often succeed) with regards to what music they should like and what dj’s they should listen to. They can make and break clubs and are very fickle, sometimes going full circle in the space of a couple of months and slating the music/scene they were bigging up a few months before.

yea agreed there, they blatantly cover some types of music way more than others, and i have seen some conflicting stories and opinions in there to something they said a month or 2 earlier. i do buy it occasionally when i have the money and feel like a magazine, but i dont trust its opinions or take it seriously. i did buy the one with that article though. yea it wasnt too bad an article.
