What a load of fucking shite. This and Glade. What kind of a festival is an exclusive entry with strict defined rules?

Then they wonder why free parties are still happening 20 years later

try n hold a festival. first a free one, then a legal one – then criticise freely dude. would you want to be responsible for underage drinkers? we want to make a positive, creative event. none of us are paid. we do it for love. would be nice to get a bit back. innit.

i understand. will just have to wait till next year if its on =]]

    hope it goes well

mate i’m more having a go at the government/councils and their licensing conditions that force people to jump through loads of hoops and enforce more rules.

respect for puttin it on, it’s just a bit annoying when you can’t go to events simply because of your age, woulda enjoyed myself like and over-18 would…

but it’s more the licensing conditions that the government enforce that i have a problem with, i appreciate you have to make some rules in order to hold the event.

it’s true man, there’s a lot of hoops to jump thru – and i’m sure we haven’t seen the half of em yet. i’ve never been one to leap to the defence of authority and the vibe of a free party is more beautiful than anything but nonetheless i’ve been to a lot of squat parties where safety’s just not taken into account. maybe i’m a born worrier but seeing flammable materials on the walls etc just freaks me out to be honest.

i appreciate your reply tho dude – thanks. in the end, i think it’s gonna be a step forward for us. we can only do what we can and hope that the wonderful atmosphere of the last couple of years’ free, private events remains unchanged.

most of all, we’re really excited to be scheduling the literature/spoken word artists on the list – and that move required a public licence. plus, atlantis have always been overground (apart from the fact that they’re downstairs…) and their parties rock.
    innit.
    ; ) x

by the way, here’s the flyer.x

very true, safety etc. was an issue i heard at the big wales bank holiday party (e.g. emergency services unable to get on site)

it sounds a brilliant initiative and as i’ve said, respect for doing it! just was slightly annoyed as i’d just found i cant (legally) get into glade either, and i’d have loved both festivals!
