right im confused on who i should vote for loadsa ppl say the lib dems, i will vote for them, unless someone changes my mind, so who are U voting for on thursday and WHY
well noone cos i cant vote, but if i could… well tories are a big no imo, and new labour are no longer even slightly to the left, in fact probs the opposite. john reid wat a fuckin plank.
liberal democrats don’t have the strongest of policies and seem to have little backbone, but takin power away from the 2 main parties is always a good idea.
so yeah, lib dems seems a good choice. you could vote for some really far-out small party, but it’s gonna do fuck all to change a poll tbh.
i can’t vote because i moved and didn’t get round to going to the civic centre to re-register
i might go back to me old area and see if my name is still on the books
and write myself in :weee:
every party has there ups and there downs, just for me every party has more downs than ups.
the lib debs i think would do a lot more for my local area but as the main governing party i dont think they can stick by anything they say for long enough.
i have to say i do like the tories veiws on keeping the pound, screw getting the euro!
party politics is completely flawed. there is one independant on our council and hhe gets bare things done
wh do you think that? they have a good record in a number of counties where they hold power (i’m not saing vote for them btw, just asking why you think that)
labour have had ten years to bring in the euro if they wanted to. our economy isn’t fit to join the euro by a long shot anyway, so it’s easy (read: meaningless) for tories to say that

i dont really know a lot about politics to be honest with you, i base a lot of my judgements on gut instinct… probably not the best thing… but my brothers is an avid tory and i think ive just had a lot of influence from him in my short life really.
i do think that labour eventually will bring in the euro, when the timing suits them perfectly, labour is too quick to follow suit…

yeah, party politics often runs in the family.
it’s worth bearing in mind that when the tories were last in power the introduced the CJA (which attempted to wipe out people gathering to listen to music in small groups, where the music ischaracterised by repetative beats), began the erosion of civil liberties with the protection of harrassment act (which makes it illegal to write a letter of complaint (read: protest), if it causes the person reading it distress), smacked miners in the face, sent unemployment through the roof, caused the biggest economic recession this country has seen since the end of WW2, american war planes took off from british military bases and bombed tripoli (capital city of a country no one was at war with), there were hardcore race riots all over the country, and introduced the poll tax (a system of tax that was dreamt up in the 14th century so unfair it caused a civil war, then the tories brought it back and almost caused a civil war)
it’s also worth bearing in mind that many of the current tory party MPs are still in power, whatever modern face Cameron wants to put on it
i’m not saying any of the others are better:wink:
yeah votin tories is a fuckin stupid idea imo if you support any kind of “alternative lifestyle” or liberal approach to parties, drugs, alcohol, squatting… and lets be honest, the CJA act was fuckin apalling. but so was the labour re-inforcment of it in 2003 :yakk:
there both shit. go with lib dems :weee:
it’s local elections though
go with whoever will do best for your area
just not the tories, or labour :yakk:

hahaha oh yeh too true you raise a very good point, i do think the majority of tories should never be allowed access to that much power! i have a lot of respect for my brother mainly because he’s passionate and works stupidly hard for what he believes in which gives me a lot more respect for his pollitical views, but i won’t be voting conservative for him! he wants to stop working for the tories anyway and get a job with the national trust…
i dont really have enough knowledge behind me when it comes to politics, im probably fairly ignorant in that department, but if i can improve society in my own small ways in my day to day life i will try.
have you thought about standing for election?
hahaha well now you mention it… i’ll get you a badge and car sticker for my party
rad 😎
torys for me …
promising to tackle those basterd trains! … they prob wont but hey
Well another year and every other fooker in my house gets the voting slip and i get….. nothing……
So this year i will be again….. not voting
