Many years ago I used to read 2000AD in which ‘citizens’ were controlled by ‘credits’. The central bank in the ‘MegaCity’ controlled income, purchases, credit – all linked to your identity. Your whereabouts was always known…if you committed ‘crime’, in thought, word or action…the central bank could effectively make you a ‘non-citizen’ – freeze your income, assets, access to purchasing power, credit, repossess your home, have you arrested by the ‘Judges’, of which Judge Dredd was the toughest.
We’ve heard about 9/11 conspiracy theories… it’s covered in this film too… check out the similarities in the govt’s preparation and response to 7/7…
Watch the film and look for the parallels in our lives today….

[evil]Zeitgeist should be seen by everyone in my opinion – it’s almost 2hours long but watch it right through – it’s in 3 parts – Religion – Money – Politics. Watching this made me consider how like America many of our ‘incidents’ are…imitation of the process to power…scares the shit out of me ![/evil]
hi MrsMousebear
This film presents 9/11 and 7/7 attacks thoughtfully. There isnt the ranting and raving of alex jones which annoys me.
Ive seen alot of the footage that is used in zeitgeist seperately. It does have its faults but overall its a good presentation.
Im not so sure about including the religion part at the beginning – people will have enough trouble understanding the second and third parts on their own.
Im a conspiracy documentary connoisseur 😉
I have lots of other docos if you want me to reccomend any. From peak oil to adam curtis’s BBC ones.
I just finished watching this and really really enjoyed it. If you’re not patient enough to watch the whole thing, you can skip the first hour but the second half is griping stuff!
And for those who want to download it rather than watch it online there’s a Torrent…
I watched this a few weeks baack, it is a good film. everyone should watch it
Yeah, I agree. It’s a good film, though second half better than the first in my opinion
wasnt there a hollywood film with the story of thought crimes and thought police i think it had tom cruise in it? any ideas anyone? I havent watched the film yet ill have to give it a go later…
I keep thinking demolition man, but it wasnt that.
(Sorry a bit off topic..)
I’m watching this for the second time at the moment.
I actually think the first 40 minutes are fascinating, basically unpicking the Christian belief bit by bit.
I’d have never imagined that the story of christ could have been about the sun rising every day before.
Been meaning to watch this for ages. May do it tonight. It’s either this or the new Indy film!
I just watched this – definately worth a watch.
I found the religion bit the most interesting but it was all eye opening.
…new currency for canada america and mexico and no one knows, bloddy hell!
dude i was just about to post a link to that movie, watched it last night,

I thought Zeitgeist was an excellent film. I enjoyed the first part the most because it was new information and made total sense. The second part was alright, but I’ve seen enough conspiracy stuff to last a lifetime and I still don’t know what any of us should do about it in practical terms. The big boys seem to have us by the the collective balls.
The movie would have been more useful if practical advice had been offered. I mean information is fairly useless unless there is something you can actually do about it.
Apart from demonstrating at G8 summits etc., which doesn’t seem to get anyone anywhere I’m stumped.
Any ideas dudes?

this is my beef with 99% of all the “conspiracy” type sites especially American ones. I even wonder if they are a conspiracy in themselves to make people feel powerless, whilst still passively consuming (I notice nearly every one of those sites has something to sell – be it a book or movie or “survivalist info” or they are full of online ads for such books)
I think there is plenty individuals can still do. Street protesting for a single issue today doesn’t have as much effect other than initial publicity value as the Establishment worldwide has worked out how to effectively counter it from the 1960s-1980s – but even for a relatively poor individual, reducing consumption and purchasing ethically when they do spend money has more power than any protest action or vote at the ballot box.
Remember also if we live in a developed country we are still the richest 5% of the world…
Capitalism (backed up by nation states) isn’t ideal but its still the most dominant system worldwide, the only way to deal with it is to use its own weight against it..
