there’s a 4-page thread with about 60 toddlers/young kids pictures on, and the purpose is so people can text/ring and vote for the one they like the look of best, and then they ar named the area’s “cutest superkid”

anyone else think this is a bit… wrong? or odd at least.

They did this when I was a boy – my local paper does it as well, its also often done with cats / dogs / other pets, I find nothing sinister about it.

Keeps the bored housewives and broody girls/women happy… if anything its better than the former practice of actually parading babies/toddlers at village fetes etc which I think is a bit harsh on the kids who would probably rather play than be scrutinised, poked and prodded by a bunch of strangers.

I think its more fucking annoying that children have to be constantly hidden from the “threat” of nonces and parents have to be frightened about this sort of stuff, its like the nonces have won a big victory, have stolen peoples childhoods and are holding us all to ransom.

Its things like this which is why I don’t want to be a parent..

TBH the only real issue I can see about it in todays connected world and stuff being archived is that if you are one of the kids it is gonna be well embarrasing when you are 10-15 years old if your mates find the pic and plaster it all over bebo and on printouts in high school etc :laugh_at:

State of fear! Theres a nonce on every street corner so pack up your kids in your shiny 4wd gas guzzler and live in fear. Symptom of the nanny state mate.

not really sinister but puttin lil babies against each other as to who is the cutest is summat a bit… odd? i dunno.

i was bored so i made a topic. n yeah GL ur rite about the nonces thing, theres kids in our small village that arent allowed to the playpark area even if they live next to it. it’s got quite bad pretty quick, in the 90’s there wasnt mthis much of ascare i’m sure, cos everyone was allowed to roam about the village
