  • Hi folks. In the news atm OB are having a dispute with the government over pay. OB ain’t allowed to strike by law but i think they’re balloting on the right to. If they did actually strike i wonder what would happen to the country while this was occurring?!

What are all your views on this, do you think they should be allowed to strike?

Its also been on the news that drug use is way up lately in the armed forces so maybe not a bad thing.

reclaim the streets in their absence

I think they should have rights to strike – the fire, ambulance services, tube / train drivers, posties do.

at the end of the day its only a job.

I’m guessing it wouldnt come to it and would hope whatever they want gets resolved – as whatever we say about their impact on the party scene we often appreciate their help in crisis situations / if we are in danger and I agree there are shit nazi police but there are also the few who genuinely do the job to try and make it a safer place……. only my opinion

i agree that you should know what your signing up for – but ….. when I’ve had someone kicking the shit out of me when I was at work I appreciated their assistance OMHO

Even if they can’t strike there’s nothing stopping them “working to rule” such as giving slower service to investigating minor “crimes” that aren’t actually harming people.

They do to an extent in London but in semi-rural areas (especially round here!) they are literally all like that copper out of the film “Hot Fuzz”…

TBH half the resources of the OB are taken up due to whinging middle englanders constantly calling 999 for things what aren’t even actual crime..

yeah ..i live in london and have only liven in towns my whole life ..so i guess i would only experiance that kind of policing
