naomi wolf is the author of “letter to a young patriot”; a book that describes the blueprint for turning a democratic society into a dictatorship… a path thet USA and UK is well on the way towards

    wake up

been saying this for years but 99.999999% of people are just to apathetic & decadent to care.

“Readers will appreciate her energy and urgency as she warns we are living through a dangerous “fascist shift” brought about by the Bush administration. Her chapters outline the “Ten Steps to Fascism” citing historical corollaries (as well as the pigs in Orwell’s Animal Farm), with headings like “Invoke an External and Internal Threat,” “Establish Secret Prisons,” and “Target Key Individuals.” In other words, fascism can exist without dictatorship. Her book’s publication through a small press in Vermont that is committed to “the politics and practice of sustainable living” rather than through a large trade house is itself a political act. Highly recommended for all collections.”

I think the big problem is most “normal” people see fascism as led by almost cartoon-like “Hitler”/”BNP” type characters and think “nah, it can’t happen here”.

That said, Hitler was democratically voted in by a free and fair election in a modern European nation that had a large amount of freedom of speech and expression for its times, after an effective campaign of publicity/spin and direct protest action :hopeless:

There are countries such as Singapore and Malaysia which have extremely authoritarian governments but still manage to be considered a “democracy”.

As ex British colonies they have similar social structures to Great Britain even today – in fact they are a very popular place for high net worth, elderly white British people to emigrate too as they think “these Oriental guys have done a better job of the Empire and keeping people under control than we did”. Unfortunately though life in these countries is actually very good for those who conform (their disciplined approach to life attracts inward investment) so most people do not protest about the lack of “freedom” or when they do they are easily discouraged.

Todays Middle Englanders are not all white, Christian or from the South. Remember the hall parties video? One of the guys on the hall committee complaining about the raves was British Asian. Today you can often older people of all races and backgrounds complaining “more must be done” for stuff like law and order, and often taking the time to vote for more social control. if a progressive solution is suggested to any social problems the anger and bile from them is astounding and many will express that anger at the ballot box (think about why some areas are solid Tory strongholds..)

One big risk in the short to medium terms is a descent from the centre right to a more authoritarian style of government but whilst preserving the routes of immigration and free trade/free market, to keep most consumers happy.

Another risk to freedom is when the conservative religious types unite and share a common platform. On a number of occasions hardcore Muslims and Christians have put aside their differences to support clampdowns on abortion rights/womens rights and to clamour for more control over recreational drug use.

ironically i reckon we’re more at risk with a labour government than tories in this aspect

i fuckin hate tories dont get me wrong, and in a lot of things they are worse than labour. but some of the laws labour have passed… bloody hell

again its as much the fault of “the people” (i.e Middle England)

when Labour had proper socialist policies no one would elect them so they shifted to centre right

its not just confined to Britain though, look at Denmark where the people are electing govts that are supporting destruction of alternative communities like Ungdomshuset and Christiana

and France where Sarko got elected

this is the sad thing, we don’t actually yet live in a dictatorship but its possible for a democratic nation to elect one :hopeless:

Oh, and a Tory government would be an absolute fucking nightmare for youth culture etc

the current lot aren’t much older than myself. They were all the posh boys what dabbled with 1980s rave culture as a “libertarian experiment” and then ran away like chastised kids when thatcho clamped down (not after grassing up the working class crews whom they had set up drug dealing networks with)

some people went down for years (the East London/Essex working class lads), others became commercial club promoters (the “Tory boy” types).

yeah the tories would be a nightmare

but werent they opposed to some of the “big brother” style laws labour passed?

i’m not gona vote tories, i’m not gona vote labour either tho. most of my family still vote labour cos of old labour, even tho its nothin fuckin like it

    hmmm

    i’m just not gonna vote

Its not facism or comunisum its something far worse its the NWO and a total big brother state! There creating a state of fear and we will loose everything we hold dear. But no one cares as there fed luxurys and tv so they dont have to think.
