I have to admit I saw this a few weeks ago and given who it was initially thought “nah, theres loads of windup websites these days, at one point he was Britains most hated man (though stuff he did was mild compared to todays media) and this has got to be is a hoax…”
seems he was badly ill for some years (the medical condition which caused his dodgy hand would have added to strain on his body), but kept on working hard in one of the most ruthless and competitive industries in the world, right up to the point he must have keeled over!
Although he may have come across as a prize twat on his LWT light entertainment shows he was a prolific producer of all sorts of books and articles and other shows (some of which were OK, and I remember (vaguely) his radio shows and kids TV work as a nipper).
Also gave a large proportion of his income to the charities which treated kids with the same sort of medical conditions he suffered from..
Didn’t realise he was that young though…
