Hey guys, how you all doing, hope alls good. Just wanted some advise really, i got a job interview tomorow, havent really been to many as any jobs ive had in the past have been straight into them without any interviews. So any pointers on how to impress, and what things to say/dont say would be greatly appreciated!
what sort of job is it?
right what you do is dribble abit then tell them to hurry up coz you need your medicatin then laff non stop for about 30 seconds. fuckin peice off piss.
Its for a big wharehouse, they test/sell electronice parts for everything, computers, t.v’s e.t.c. I would be testing them and processing orders and shit as well as other general warehouse duties i think. I really wanna get it because its just round the corner from me and its about time i got a proper job!
cheers mate, hopefully with this advise ill sail through it! will be putting into use tomorow
oh you want the job, then ignore everything i said.
When you first meet the interviewer make sure you confidently introduce urself and shake their hand. Always remember to answer questions as fully as you can and don’t be afraid to put a little B.S in there as well. Try to lookthem in the eye when talking but not in a crazy way. and if ur feeling nervous try and imagine them in their underwear! Hope it goes well for you man.
Oh yeah arrive 10min early as this shows u r punctual. And remember to ask them questions about what ur role will entail:love:
Should be fairly easy if you can show enthusiasm and a bit of technical knowledge, but the main thing is to show willingness to help customers
as someone who buys a lot of this sort of stuff, its not always the technical side which is a problem (you are often selling to engineers who know exactly what they want) but dealing with customer service issues
An important mindset is that you give the same service to small orders as big ones as one day the “low value” customer could be buying a ton of stuff and that if things go pear shaped you will try and sort them out..
for instance I bought 3 telephone sockets from a local supplier. (a different kind to what BT normally use and fairly specialist for this country) Someone in the company got their plugs and sockets mixed up and sent me 3 BT ringing capacitor adaptors instead
I called the supplier and they immediately admitted the mistake, and said they would ship out the correct stuff for tomorrow (which I was happy with) Then I got a call 5 minutes later from another chap who said as we weren’t far away, he would deliver the stuff by hand – 30 minutes later the man arrived with the correct kit and picked up the original package..
Now I happen to have an entire server room to equip later this year (and was looking at the supplier for other stuff like entire systems), so this supplier will be one of the preferred ones because of how they handled a problem with the small order <£10)
i turned up to a job interview a few years ago which was on monday afternoon. i’d been hammering it all weekend and i was still pretty wired on monday come interview time. what made it worse is that it was summer time and i was there all dressed up. it was at this time that my body decided to cleanse itself of all the toxins it had taken in over the weekend. so there was me sweating buckets, trying to answer questions set by a prospective employer. funnily enough i didnt get offered the job. i wouldnt recommend doing that.
the best thing to be is to be yourself. an interview is as much for them to see whether they like you as a person as whether you are competent to be doing the job. get on with the interviewer and you stand a better chance of being offered the job.
Try to find other interests for the company than “its at the corner”. Look on their website, n remember some info so when they tell u stuff u say : oh yea i ve seen that on your website etc. Plus ask lot of questions about the position, the possible evolution, n u should get sorted. good luck
Thanks for the tips guys, yeah i lot of people have told me to be myself with the interviewee, and ill do a bit of research on the company tongiht, to give myself a heads up, ill let you all know how it went! 😉
They love it when you have done a bit of research on the company, I always browse the website and find out as much info before hand.
go out n get pissed now in celebration of the job your gona get tomorra 😉
know ur stuff about them
turn up with time to spare
answer their questions, dont start waffling
have a coupla questions of your own
an dont worry too much 😉
good luck, let us know how it goes
i work in a big warehouse and if your interveiw is anything like mine then as long as you can spell you name and count the dots (yes you had to count dots) then you already have the job
