i’ve had my xbox for about 13/14 months now, i bought it in december 2006, had it for about 6 months and it broke, i had to ring up microsoft, get it arranged to be picked up and sent off, which took like another month to do, then after that, instead of microsft actually ‘repairing’ the console i gave them, 4 months later, they sent me a brand new console. which i wasn’t particually happy about because my hard drive had all my saved games on it, so me thinking that they were gunna send the same one back was my bad!!!
anyway recently, i’ve got lots of friends who have had to resort in selling their xbox’s because they have had the ‘3 flashing red lights’ on the front, one of the being my brother and he has only had his BRAND NEW xbox for 2 weeks. it seems a little offputting for me to say the least.
but my problem is should i sell it before it goes wrong? the warrenty on it has run out so if in the future something does go wrong with it, i will have to fork out tons of money to get it repaired. i know i must of spend a good £500+ on it so i know it won’t even be worth half of that when i sell it.
the only time i’ve ever really played on my xbox has been when my computer has been broken, but since that has been fixed, i haven’t even been on my xbox. oh yeah and another thing, i’m afraid that if i do end up selling it, because i have no job and nothing, i’ve got my bets on me blowing it all on drugs, which i really don’t want happening.
well anyway that sums it up, i do wanna sell it but for all the right reasons. anyone got an xbox 360? has any1 had similar sort of problems with it lately?
Sounds like you just answered your own question there mate.
I had probs with mine. It did the death lights after about 6 months. Took it back and they replaced it no questions asked. Got home, booted it up, 3 red lights!! Took it back the next day and got another new one and it’s been working fine ever since (about 5 months).
Top consoles… shit reliability.
check when it was made cause microsoft extended the warrenty on a massive batch of them for the next 3 years
mines worked a treat, has its days but is good machine (cd drive cover the same as the rest of the machine … third batch i think)
i thought it was the batch of machines with the metallic cd drive cover that was extended … check the website
well i’ve put it up on ebay, see what i get for it………….

Dude, you should of put the starting bid a bit higher!! For that package you should of put a minimum of at least 50 quid!!
yeh i sud of man, but hey thats the point in bidding, if the bid doesn’t get to an ‘acceptable’ price, do i have the right to take it off and not sell it?
I’m not sure you do if someone bids 30 quid and it finishes, your legally obliged to complete the transaction. I’d take it down now while theres no bids and redo it. No sense in you losing out on money dude:wink:
In fact looking at other xbox sellers the starting bids are averaging about 100-150 starting. Your package deal is alot better than most of them. I reckon now a starting bid of at least 120-130 pound!!!!
Change it dude otherwise ur gonna get mugged off!!:hopeless:

took youre stoopid advice and chaged it to £50, though bidders dont usually reconise auctions until like a day remaining, i’ve got 2 days left so we shall see what happens =)
No once you have put it up you have agreed to sell it, you can either put a high starting bid on or a reserve at a reasonable price. Its a bit harsh to put it up there then not sell it because you haven’t got what you want, you should really think about that before selling it.
To be honest I usually sell stuff at a £1 start and NO reserve and i have usually done OK out of it.
You can take it off sale now and relist it with a reserve but you will have to pay your listing fees twice (once for your first listing & again for your second listing) I also thikn you can do this in the edit your listing bit too…
Good lad. Hopefully you’ll get a nice bit of wedge out of it. If you do mines an ice cold Budweiser!
