do you earn less than £18,500 per year? then you will be worse off under the new tax regime

i think it’s wrong. taking money from the lowest paid, to give a 2p in the £ tax break to middle income earners, while there’s been nothing to actually try and tax the ultra rich

the worrying thing is that this is what labour have done. they are supposed to be the party of the common person. Rest assured that the tories would do exactly the same (they actually did far worse by imposing poll tax when they were last in power, for anyone too young to remember)

so we are fucked, unless we are rich

any thoughts?

i thought new labour was no more workin class party… only old labour. i think it makes no fucking sense, but maybe it’s brown tryin to get some of the daily mail readers on his side, same as cannabis to class B

wasnt there something on the news a lot recently about how the ultra-rich would threaten to all leave the country if heavily taxed or something?

I also think the tax groups should be more staggard, and include people earning alot more than 36k, which currently get taxed 40% If I remember right. I would like to see less tax under 80k, and keep the 40% for amounts over it, and maybe 50% over 1m.

I remember reading about how alot of the countries richest folks avoid taxes In certain ways too, costing absoloutely millions and millions for the country. Not sure about this, can anyone clarify?

well thats just great aint it, i don’t know about you lot but if you have debts and most of your money is going to pay them off like me i need all the money i can get, i don’t see how they can justify all this i mean in most instances when tax ect go up its not like our wages rise to mate the rate of inflation this country makes me sick.

Basic rate of tax is going down to 20% from 22% but you are losing the lower 10% rate of tax along with it
