yes shit loads need improving, theres fuckloads wrong with this world.

but lets not paint a picture of england slipping into shit and dissaray, with people gettin stabbed left right and centre. i’ll always support activism for the better, but it doesnt mean i’m a completely pessimist and think its all gone to shit.

honestly, fucking scare mongering most of it!

we’ve got a great education system, our nhs is still pretty good despite the faults, we still have lenient drug laws, we dont have guardia or civil guard etc.

i dunno. sometimes i think people just love hyping stuff up. and usually it’s the wrong stuff that needs to be hyped up.

hype up the terrible hypocrisy of our foreign policy for example, rather than the speculation that there is a pedo waiting on every corner and a kid waiting to spread your entails over the street.

If you know any foreign languages or have any experience of other nations its easy enough to check their news sites and things are equally bad there if not worse.. England is no worse than anywhere else in the EU and way better than some places…

All the same crime is happening everywhere else in the world and often more guns are involved. There is more division between ethnic groups in other countries (in Germany armed guards have to look after ethnic minority media places)

Its pointless running away from England which is one of the worlds better nations.

when I speak to people from other countries they are amazed that our cops have to put a yellow dot in the windows of their patrol cars if they are armed and actually say “ARMED POLICE!”

OK some areas are getting locked down but I think its inevitable in the short term as people took the piss when they had a bit more freedom. For instance I can see why cops in Ipswich keep a close eye on things as this area is very much like South London 15-20 years ago and the locals here don’t want it going down the same direction.

we are only going to keep our “lenient” drugs and alcohol laws if we are sensible when we do these things..

well i tell things that have happened in my life to me or people i know .. unfortunatly not all of it is good … can’t hide from that fact .. alltho i would like to … i don’t tell people what happens on every street corner .. just mine …

its scare mongering and media hype imo

like the whole paedophile shit, theres mothers who dont let their kids out of their site even to play, some are even talkin about chippin. it’s not down to an increase in dodgy nonces, its down to the bloody media scaring us. same with all the “teenagers show no respect, out of control” well thats nothing new, theres always been that, to less or extreme extents.

drug laws aint lapse i just served 3 months of a 12 month sentence for £20 worth of ching. i think all drugs should be leaglised.

no not all of it is good

dont get me wrong there were bare knives and dodgy shit happened round here, my secondary school has been shut twice because of gun scare and i can remember at least 3 times when knives have been involved in disputes at secondary school.

but just because a backpacker was murdered in australia doesnt mean i wont go to australia. just because someone was shot in manchester doesnt mean i will go round manchester in a bullet-proof hoody.

well it all depends really … there are some places in the world are are really dangerouse to go to … not just media hype … … you might go to a country even tho there is shit going on there .. but if some thing happened to you whilst you were there … would you go back?

Now I’ve got a very good memory for numbers and codes

I was arrested in the mid 90s for a minor offence and released without charge. it was claimed the custody record was “destroyed”. I have only one caution for drugs with that particular constabulary and that was at a different police staiton

14 years later I was arrested again for another minor offence and brought to that police station. they gave me the same code number from the 1990s and I heard them talking “this is his PNC code (for the drugs caution)” and “this is his LIO code (local intelligence office)” (probably because of my involvement with raves/squats)

Again I was eventually released w/o charge but I know that record is still there. the cops never “forget and forgive” the petty stuff, its always on your record..

most people still get cautions for their first and even second/third drugs offences though..

thats different than saying england is full of shit, really. reading recent threads it sounds as though people think we’re in chaos. it’s very exagerrated.

i’d think carefully before visiting iraq cos it is dangerous. england is not. if i went to a country and something bad happened… i’d go back. when i was in spain someone chucked a bottle at me, been back three times since.

i dont do living in fear 😉

oh yeah i don’t like to live in fear either .. and it’s not media hype and what other people have said to me other than people i know in real life that makes me warey … i know its not nice having a bottle thrown at you .. but you didn’t get seriously hurt by it by the sounds of it … when you have been put it hospital for no reason and so have a few friends of yours .. and some one murders a friends of yours ect. .. you start to see the world around you in a diferant light … regardless of what the media say … even tho there probably are many places worse than england .. my experiance of it ..is that its a shit hole …. i can only go on what i have seen … if i had never gone through shit like what i have said .. i would probably think it’s a wonderfall place .. but that would only be cos that shit had happened to some one else and not me … you build your points of veiw on your own experiances … some people have good ones .. some bad … if you exclude the media .. who i do agree are trying to stir things up … 2 people from the same place could have 2 totaly diferant views on the same place due to there own personal experiance of that place 😉
