  • I was sitting down today and i switched on the news to see a report on last nights party at horsey gap.The head of norfolk police was banging on about how our systems just want money.

I was obviously shouting at the tv by this point in anger and i don’t see any reason why they should be cracking down on us.

Wwe go to rural locations for a reason.

We at least try to clean up after our selfs.

Anyway every Saturday night theres a load of coppers in a hall in norfolk waiting to drive off to a party as soon as some fossil sees a small convoy drive by.

I was also shocked by the force the police used. The report showed most people by the rig and about 30 police officers stormed in, rugby tackled the dj and people were running back to their cars.

This is a mess and must be costing US a fortune.

    Rant over!

    Your comments?

    STOP PARTYING NORFOLK!

its a lot more complicated than just a sudden babylon crackdown.

Horsey gap got rinsed in ’06 and ’07 and so did loads of other places across East Anglia. This started around 2003 onwards when the cops didn’t go in as heavy.

The level of force used is exactly the same used everywhere else in the South by the time locals get pissed off with raves. They now go in heavier here than in other areas because people are stubborn. its not as if the feds haven’t warned everyone since the winter!

The farmers and Forestry may have put up with it a few years back but they kept getting targeted in the same areas. and yes people do clear up but its not good enough because last tunes is sometimes around 20:00 on Sunday so its getting dark and everyone is too knackered.

And yes the feds do exaggerate the problem the image a lot of youths give out about the rave scene (not just in Norfolk) doesn’t help

Theres social network sites with loads of youths bragging about how much drugs they took or even sold.

There’s youths of 16-18 who have never had a steady job bragging about how they spent a grand on tunes and sound equipment

Theres also kids in Norwich trying to behave like London “gangsta yout” when the whole country is fucked off with the way some cities have been surrendered to gang culture.

Now I know its often all talk but olds and coppers tend not to be able to work out if theses youths are bluffing or not, plus a lot of people from these ends are from London originally and come here to get away from the problems.

OK this happened “back in the day” (and I don’t mean that long ago) but no one bragged on line as we knew that there was a society out there what doesn’t agree with the things we do and they have power.

Cops aren’t daft and they know people “know their rights” these days so if they are prepared to show themselves on telly throwing their weight around or making harsh statements they already have evidence on people.. they use forensic accountants to “follow the money” and they know there is a shitload of drugs being served up because of the rave scene.

also too many young people are fucking up on ketamine and other drugs due to the party scene

you can only get away with activism when you have the public behind you.

For instance many people tolerate a protest at Sizewell or Lakenheath (even if they don’t take part) because nuclear waste and war is bad stuff, but to many normal people a rave has stopped being “harmless fun” and is now seen as anti social behaviour or even organised crime.

Urm left about 9.30am as I had to pop to the market to pick up some stuff… session carried on most the day though at a mates house :weee: I was gonna pop back about 12pm but I was told the party was supposed to have closed down then…

FFS. Its just getting stupid now. How many weeks in a row is this? I honestly can’t believe anyone would be thick enough to go out after the last few months- and horsey gap, jesus!

If people had left it alone this winter, then there may have been a chance for a few, well organised parties to happen out of the way this summer. As it is its going to be a shite summer for anyone who still wants to go out.

I was thinking about organising something legal, getting a TENS and that, but tbh I don’t think these stupid kiddies deserve even that.

Fuck it, I’m moving to London anyway.

Just wondering if you guys saw this it was write up in the edp

Funny thing is they say mobiles may not have signal so you wouldnt be able to call for help.
If your phone has no signal you can still dial 999 or 112.

This is getting fucking stupid now, norfolk needs to be left well alone
and in the same bloody place?

the worst part of it could fuck it up for legal events as well

the cops aren’t stupid and they know everyone is linked – they also know Norfolk gets rinsed because they have been successful in clamping down in Essex and Suffolk

There are documents online from Suffolk Police which clearly imply they consider Eastern Haze to be linked with people involved with illegal raves and its one reason they charge more and more for licenses each year (to recover the costs)

Also though I didn’t live here until 2006 I’ve heard a lot of true stories from people who grew up here and a lot of the backlash is because back in the 90s (when half of the youth today were in junior school!) people overdid things with drugs etc – I get the impression the “normal people” are angry enough a lot of one generation fucked up without risking another..

i can see where your coming from with this i have’nt actually been raving for a few years now.I was going to the pulse8 and livewire parties mostly and the majority of the people i used to knock about with are really fucked up on drugs myself being one of them some of my mates still are.Thankfully i just smoke and drink nowadays but it could’ve been worse.

Can I issue a plea to rave organisers to stay away from Horsey please. The dunes are home to Norfolk’s largest colony of Dark Green Fritillary butterflies. The caterpillars feed on violets that grow in the dunes – and those plants can’t cope with being danced on. The last rave wiped out over 30% of the violets – with a corresponding decline last year in numbers of the Fritillary. The dunes system at Horsey and the corresponding dunes at Hickling are the only locations in Norfolk where this rare butterfly still survives, and it really needs to be left alone for some years to recover at Horsey.

    Thanks

    Read Above.

Is this acurate? Anyone? Any takers?

I remember the tiny endangered snail at Snelsmore Common being an issue for the A34 bypass but can anyone comment further?

    Wind up or True Story?

    Please discuss further
